lets say all players in the league were put in a pool and fantasy draft was held. it was a one season league and that's it. you have the number 1 pick. who do you pick?

I pick Amare

Watch Amare play. His athleticism with shooting skill is unique. and it is not dependent upon Nash.

Without a doubt, Kobe Bryant.

Second would be Lebron James.

ditto. these two are just on a different level than those others mentioned. some (even nonlaker fans) would even argue that kobe is in the highest level by himself (lebron will probably surpass him in the future)

Tim Duncan

He doesnt have to have the ball in his hands to make an impact to his team positively. Now thats just too good.

Kobe is the best player in the NBA.

But you should have thrown in Gasol just to throw off Don n' Llamy.

Asking who the best player in the NBA is and asking who you'd pick with #1 in an open fantasy draft are not the same thing.

Best player is definitely Kobe Bryant, but I'd pick Lebron James with the first pick.

why wouldn't the best player in the NBA now be the 1st player you'd pick in a fantasy draft (if it were only a 1 season fantasy league)?

Because stats don't take into account the total game.

If you are talking the best player in the game, I'm going Kobe. If you are talking who is going to get me more fantasy points, I'm taking LeBron.

Kobe's defense, his tenacity and his sheer will to win are what I'm wanting if stats aren't my primary concern.

It's a "fantasy" draft for actual games, not a draft for a fantasy league.

Lebron over Kobe because of their ages.

EDIT: Aww hell, I can't read. I want to change my vote to Kobe, because since it's a one season league, ages don't matter.

lebron has better stats than kobe, and is the better fantasy player.

he def had mad will to win when he gave up that game 7 playoff series vs the suns..

kobe is a crybaby and a waste of talent..

I'd take LeBron. Proven leader, underrated defender, unstoppable scorer that makes his teammates better. What more can you ask for?

LeBron is even playing his heart out when things are not going his way. I can't imagine him giving up in a game 7.
