I predict both schools will ignore my suggestion (yet another year!) to get 7-11 to sponsor the game. Instead of the the Territorial Cup (which sounds like a golf match or a Formula I race), it will be the Territorial Big Gulp.

:biglaugh: That is horrible!

Prediction?... pain.

...that is quoted from Clubber Lang... in case you didn't know. I believe with the rain, the ASU ground game will be more effective than that of the UofA. However, due to lack of ground attack, the Kittens will be forced to throw in the 2nd half, giving ASU 2+ interceptions.
ASU 31
UofA 13... but closer than the score indicates due to the late turnovers.

I think the rain is going to be a big advantage for ASU due to their superior running game. UA has a quick offense and as Erickson has mentioned, ASUs defensive speed (team speed in general really) isn't where it needs to be, so the rain may slow down some of UAs quick slants, screens, et cetera. I look for Nance and Herring to rumble the Devils to victory.

UA 17

Everytime I make a prediction, the opposite happens. Therefore, I am using reverse psychology.

Your close but reverse the scores to teams..

Your high..

Well yeah, if I wanted to lose in pick 'em and let my friend win then that would be the way to go, but I see no reason to pick the far inferior team.

If anything, the rain helps UA. Slants, screens, etc., severely favor the offense in adverse conditions. Receivers and RB's know their routes and adjust their speed and footing accordingly. It's entirely different when you're trying to cover in those conditions...

In general, running is easier than passing in the mucky conditions I'd say. Muddy conditions also slow everyone down. So while slants and screens are the easier passes to complete, part of UAs advantage with them (speed) is negated by the wetness.

Either way...I don't know what the conditions are going to be like. I live in Downtown Phx and it hasn't rained here today...is it raining in Tempe anyone know?
