All of a sudden the Cards went from a team desperate for a pass rusher to a team with impact players. Not only will Chandler himself have an impact but the game of guys like Campbell and Golden should leap forward. Combined with the other Cardinal signings I believe the Cards are in great position to take the BPA in round one. I'm quite sure that won't be a QB, but almost any other position is possible. Even a guy with issues who drops, like J Smith, would be an option. Others like Ragland, Floyd, Butler and William Jackson III may be available. Getting one of them at an affordable price could play dividends for years to come. The Cards might think center, but round three may satisfy that need. This draft, even without a round 2 pick, could be a draft to remember.

I think the RD 1 pick has to be a starter right away-Either a Solid DE (Sheldon Rasnkins,Bullard etc) or a CB to start opposite PP

The second round pick is Chandler Jones, so it already IS a draft to remember!

I like to look at it this way.

Maybe the media will look at it this way as well if the Cardinals have a good draft with their other picks.

If CC won't restructure his contract, go balls-deep and trade him and our #1 to move up to the top of the draft, and take one of the blue chip QB's. Why not?

by what I was seeing....we were going to use our second on an OLB/DE anyway,...so this does not really change the rest of the draft at all. There were going to be no pass rushers available worthy of our top pick at 29....so we drafted in the second round a month early.

Ummm, because we are in win now mode. Trade your best DL AND pass on another player who can help now to take a QBOFuture?

I'm thinking Ryan Kelly or Eli Apple, if they're available make the most sense.

Ryan Kelly makes a ton of sense and Eli Apple has the length and athleticism our team is looking for in a CB. Good suggestions Cbus!

I would be depressed if we drafted another OL in the first AGAIN under Keim.

Eli Apple is all athleticism, no technique & terrible tackling.

Vernon Butler or the Ole Miss kid would make our front 7 scary again. The

Broncos Seahawks and Giants won a title because of their front seven. I would

puke if we went o line at 29. What about trading down to 40 or so and getting

Kenny Clark or Austin Johnson? Then get a center like Iowas Austin Blythe and

a corner in the third round? Steve is money in the third.

I think the thing this trade did was it prevents us from reaching for OLB which was my big fear. I think this is very poor edge rush group, most years I would guess these guys would be getting late 1st or 2nd round grades but they are getting pushed into top 20 discussions because of need, but that doesn't make them a top 20 player. We also have more ability to trade down and add picks which I would love. The trade didn't change my opinion as which way I would draft I still think DL CB C

We need to simply look where we are thinnest and weakest at backups. Don't want one injury to wipe out our chances. I would not be opposed to still getting a OLB or TE is first pick if it is a BPA type. We know we are thin at CB, so that would be great. Even another great S so what happened last season doesn't repeat itself.

Thats fine but you don't have a center to back up.

FWIW, I don't think the trade should impact the draft at all. Even at the top of the draft, you don't make decisions based on this year. You make draft choices for the next five years.

Keim has done a pretty good job looking for high-floor prospects in the first round who aren't going to cripple you if they bust. I think that Keim is definitely going to look to recover that lost draft choice if he can, ideally I'd guess with a 4th or 5th rounder.
