The Boston Globe had an interesting picture.

This would solve our QB issue for the next couple of years.

(Was originally told Boston Globe but it looks more like the Eagle Tribune.)

Sure, trade Fitzgerald straight up for Brady. That would be an interesting study of fan reaction.

Brady would suck on any other team.. He is a scheme QB.. He would show why he was a sixth round draft pick..

Yep, his quick accurate passes would be mostly useless anywhere else I imagine. :biglaugh:

I'd give Floyd and our #7 in a heartbeat.

DD + #7 also.

Who would do it for 2 1sts. This yr. and next? Done?

Me, but it's not gonna happen. Don't know why everyone is so quick to jump on the guy, because what, the Ravens beat him and he slid?

He's not getting traded this offseason.

I don't see this year as the trade season but the Pats (and the Cardinals should learn this) do have a history of parting ways with a star player a year too early, while they have value, rather than a year too late.

I have to agree with this. Cassel went 11-5 for the Patriots not that long ago.

Some fans here in New England are going bananas that Brady's window is closing and are anxious to see what they have in Mallet.

I think it would be a huge mistake for them to get rid of Brady. I don't think he goes anywhere as long as Belichick is there.

I don't think that's true. Belichick can coach a lot longer than Brady can play QB. Belichick is going to have to move to the next QB at some point and better a year too early than a year too late.

Hard to imagine any QB have the same kind of success if he went from the incredible, seemingly never-ending pass protection to a fire drill situation. Of course, my dislike of the Patriots leaves me susceptible to conspiracy theories too.

One of the major ways the Pats cheated was by using a 2nd (and illegal) frequency, with which they talk to the quarterback. In the NFL, the communication from coach to quarterback is shut off with 15 seconds on the play clock. The assertion in this book is that Brady was listening to a second frequency and being told what the defense will be (and where the open receiver will be) up until the moment he snaps the ball.

Getting rid of Troy Brown and Drew Bledsoe were a couple of the early moves by BB, so who knows? It'll be really interesting to see if Brady gets the same, clinical treatment that is best for the team or if they hang onto him until the end.

And after we pay the ransom, he spends a year in the desert and retires to pursue his modeling career.

Of course I'd take him. Last time we had a mid thirty's HOF QB that still had it worked out pretty well.

We'd also only be on the hook for his salary, not bonuses (unless some bonuses are still to be paid out), so he wouldn't cost nearly as much as he costs the Patriots in cap space, at least as long as he's under his current deal.

It's not like we're going to find someone better this year. I'd take him and let Arians/Moore have a chance to find a QBOF over the next few years.

Of course it wouldn't be smart to give up a ton for him, but it would be worth it to give up a decent bit similar to what has been mentioned above.

Nope. Belichick is going to ride the Brady train right into retirement. Brady retires, Beilichick retires with him.

I think the Cassel comparison is a little off base. Yes they went 11-5 with Cassel, but let's not overlook that he didn't put up anywhere near Brady type numbers. Cassel had 21 TDs, 11 INTs, 7 YPA and a 89 Passer Rating in 2008. Solid to good numbers, but not the type of numbers Brady put up just the year prior. He had 50 TDs, 8 INTs, 8.3 YPA and a 117 Passer Rating in 2007. Also Cassel was sacked 47 times in 2008 while Brady was sacked a total of 37 times when combining 2007 and 2009.

I think the Cards have had enough of the old, re-tread QB's.

Time to draft and develop one instead of picking from the left-overs.
