I woulda been pissed if he went back to the girl in the end! But it was a great movie!

Solid, entertaining movie. The acting was pretty bad at times (as I expected) but the premise more than made up for that and carried the movie.

Very creative!

Saw it opening weekend and both the wife and I loved it. Ashton did a really good job. Not bad for some rookie writers.

My g/f and I went and saw this last night for valentine's. Great flick. A little gore-ier than I thought it would be, but I love how dark it was. The subject matter was great, and it really makes you think about how decisions in your life map the rest of your life. This was maybe the best movie in recent times about timetravel / multiple timelines, and I really didn't think the acting was bad at all. This was a good first serious role for the punk'd guy, and the girl in the film had some great acting moments, I thought.

I just saw it. I liked it a lot.
**SPOILERS to follow below**

Couple of issues with the premise (as usually happens with "time travel" flicks.

1. If home-movies set him off, then burning the journals isn't exactly shutting the door on his "problem." Any memory could trigger it, unless he has a solid control over it. And, if that's the case, why burn the journals?

2. Uh, actually, I forget the second point I was going to make. Damn.

What?
Butterfly Effect

I didn't see a post about it yet so here goes.

Twisted! That was one of the better movies I've seen this year. I used to think Krutcher was just a moronic hack but he did well in this one.

I won't spoil it for anyone but I would recommend it.

I just watched this movie on Saturday night... I loved the premise and the story. I also thought Ashton Kutcher did a fantastic job.... I love my Blockbuster freedom pass

Just watched "Paycheck", which also had a good story and "Cold Mountain"... eh

Ryan is cheap that way - but that's not necessarily a bad thing now, is it? Probably should up to your place for that "drive-in" experience after he and the wife returned from "dinner". And by "dinner" I mean they went to a restaurant and sampled food from other patrons plates before being asked to leave.

:D

vey good movie - much better than i had originally thought it was going to be. my mom really wanted to see it, so the wife and i drove up to flagstaff and took her to the theater when it first came out.

funny, i had the same opinion of krutcher at the time.

My wife swore she wouldn't watch it. By the end she was making me pause it to go to the rest room. lol!

I watched it last night. A very good movie but very depressing (The Directors Cut). I definately would not recommend it to anyone suffering from depression.

I just watched it. Very cool movie. I was shocked to see Kutcher in it. As soon as I saw his name on the beginning credits, I thought “what the heck is he doing in a movie like this?” I guess he can do more than just the fluff roles that I’ve seen him in. I thought he was outstanding.

It took me a while to pick up on the fact that his childhood blackouts where actually caused by his future self coming back in time to change the future.

Now I’m going to check out the Director’s Cut. I’ve heard that the ending is much more gloomy.

Maybe it was the subject matter but I just found this movie too creepy to enjoy. The first time i saw it I took a 14 year old kid along with me and he said "weird". Now his mom tells me it's one of her favorite movies ever and that Ryen likes it too.

I watched it again at home the other day on tv and it still creeped me out. I think the idea is fascinating I just could have done without the subjects they have in this movie.

This is a strange thread. TBE was marginal science fiction.
