With their lack of appreciation towards season ticket holders.

<rant>
So we go down today to renew our season tickets.. Technically they're in my dads name, but I'm the one who goes to the vast majority of games and pay for the tickets... But, he's getting up there in age and I don't want to lose the tickets...

First we ask about adding a second set of seats.. It's a $200/per seat non-refundable deposit AND you get lumped in w/ the general wait list. Season ticket holders don't get any first dibs on seats. The seats are going to sell one way or another, so why not go on a seniority basis if season ticket holders want to add more??

Next, we ask about getting my email added to the acct.
"Nope, only one email can be listed - no alternates."

Third, we ask about putting my address on the acct...
"Not a good idea because if the name doesn't match the address it(anything Cards related) could get returned." UGH!!

Finally, we ask about transferring the acct to my name.
"Sure, no problem, but you lose your 20+yrs of seniority and go back to zero. But, you can keep your seats."
WTF!! I about lost it there. I could understand if they were being transferred outside of the family, but if the last name is the same why should it matter??

I'm just baffled by the lack of appreciation this franchise shows towards season ticket holders...

This is a travesty. They should just not have any rules about season ticket accounts. Hell, you should just be able to add seats whenever, waiting list be damned, even though it would be illegal to skip over people that have already paid for those spots in line. Rules are made to be broken. Furthermore, I think that family members should be able to just swap accounts whenever they want. If I move out of state I should be able to transfer my seniority to whomever i want. I think I should be able to add six email accounts to my account. Honestly, there shouldn't be any rules or restrictions. I think because I have season tickets I should be able to eat breakfast with the team every game day. My dad gets a pension from the Army and I called to see if they could just direct deposit his cash into my checking account and the Army declined. Army sucks too.

This organization is complete garbage.

And you are a complete......

I didn't say transfer the acct to anyone, but nice of you to blow that out of proportion.. Same w/ the six emails..

Why is it so difficult for the organization to show appreciation to those fans that have been w/ them the longest rather than lumping us w/the band wagoners??

Heck, when the new stadium opened season ticket holders got first dibs on picking/upgrading seats based on seniority. Why is this different?

That was before the stadium sold out and they started taking deposits for new accounts. Your dad could have added the seats when he had the chance. Why do you need more now? Bandwagon fans want to go with you? You want to sell a few and make a profit? Either way adding tickets is adding tickets. Get in line. Throw a fit and bash the organization if you want but the process is fair and in line with every other pro sports team that has a waiting list. The rules makes sense and they are there for a reason.

They are, transferring the tickets to someone else (family or not) your not the person with the seniority....why didnt you just get tickets 20 years ago??? er for that matter a couple years ago when the were readily available...or were you not a fan then.

People like to feel entitled then trash the organization without really thinking about what they are requesting. I have multiple friends that want season tickets. I guess the Cards should just pander to my request and let me add 20 seats. I can make a nice side business.

Exactly how was I bashing the org?? There's a difference between a rant and bashing, but clearly you don't see a difference.

Why I want an extra set of tix is is irrelevant to the discussion, but quite frankly I want another set because I can afford them. Wanted to get them last year, but opted to put the $$ towards a house.

Nice of you to focus on just part of the extra tickets, yet no brilliant reasons for the rest.

The Cards are going to get the $$ whether someone buys the tickets and goes to the game or sells them second hand. If you can afford the 20 extra seats they why shouldn't you get first crack at selecting seats over someone who decided to jump on the band wagon this year?
The Cards would have begged you to buy 20 tix 6 years ago.

I've been going to home games since game 1 and have missed very few. I didn't get them 20yrs ago because I couldn't afford them - the parents bought them for the family. Once I could afford them on my own, I've always paid the cost and whoever wanted to go w/ me could.

Not everyone is out to sell them second hand just to make a quick buck. Not everyone is struggling in this economy.

Could be worse. Could have seat licenses that people sell for $20k a piece like some other teams...

Bills, your rant makes no sense.

Yes, the organization WOULD have begged you to buy 20 seats 6 years ago....BBBBBUTTTT ya didnt.

also, I think this team does appreciate its loyal fans VERY much. We just got our invoice and it said the prices for our section did not go up. Also I thought the DVD they sent out last offseason was nice, and I expect the next one to be coming in the mail soon after the draft.
quit whining cause you wanna make a cheap buck off the team but you waited too long

This issue I don't agree with. My dad was the original name on our account went we first got season tickets 10+ years ago. The two of us have split the tickets since. Two years ago we switched the account over to my name. Why should we lose our senority collectively because we just swith names on the account (we have both been going and paying for the same amount of time). If they let you put more than one name/person on the account this problem would not occur. How is it right in this instance. The additional ticket issue/policy I have no problem with.

I would just switch the address

I am assuming you and your father share the same last name

and even if you dont share the same last name -- the mail goes by the address, not the name

the only i thing i disagree with is that he ought to be able to switch the tickets from his dad's name to his. I knwo the Cards haven't been in Arizona that long but say a father takes his son to games for years and then, when the dad gets older and can't make the games, he ought to be able to switch, without penalty, and let the son have them and start taking his kid. That's how you build a long tradition amongst fans. I can't believe that wouldn't be the Cards policy. Maybe you misundertood them. It's not like he's taking tickets from someone who has been on the waiting list. He's just keeping them in his family. It's been done that way for years with other franchises. OSU is like that as well.

Every organization does this... The Boston Red Sox has people will their tickets to people after their death. They lose their seniority, but it doesn't matter because they can likely never get a better seat. Same thing with the Packers which has a 30 year waiting list.

There you go problem solved, except for getting the extra seats. You can't get everything when YOU want it.

If it's any consolation, I've asked many of those same questions and received the same answers. At least they are consistent.

Sometimes it seems like the Cardinals operate as if they were a monopoly or something!

Ya know, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! I'm going to show them and take my business to one of the other professional football leagues in town!

Thats weird because I just went in there and switched my families tickets into my name and they let me keep my senority and I actually added on 25 more seats so that when we get into the playoffs I can sell them for a huge profit..........

The Cards approach makes perfect sense to me. That is how my company would handle your request. An account holder is the account holder, it doesnt branch out to the family members. Sorry
