Chris Drury must go.

Believe me, it's not just The Maven making the statement. This is public opinion. This is the rank and file Ranger fan talking and – if you don't believe me – check out X/Twitter and you'll get the drift.

"I honestly feel that the organization needs a complete overhaul," says Jessica Cassino of Staten Island.

Generally speaking, I would say that for every pro-Drury message, there are – minimum – 20 for Jim Dolan to dump the GM as fast as the Gm booted Peter Laviolette.

Longtime fan Bernard Rohde of Queens is typical of the diehard Blueshirt supporter I'm talking about. Listen up and you'll know what I mean.

"I'm one of the 75% who thinks Drury should get the gate," writes Rohde. "Accountability starts at the top and so does stability. Neither of these two things exist on Seventh Avenue.

"Drury created this mess and not just this mess. He screwed up the chemistry when Gallant was coach by bringing in Patrick Kane. Then, they got beat by the Devils and Gallant was given the gate."

The trick here is to figure out what Dolan is thinking and wonder what the players tell him if he actually communicates with them today at the training base.

It's also hard to tell how much of the anti-Drury dissent is getting to the owner's ears and, furthermore, how much he really cares. This much is certain, Bernie Rohde represents the legion of fans who do care.

"Until there's stable leadership starting in the front office," Rohde concludes, "the revolving door to the coach's office will continue to turn and the Rangers will be an October to March team maybe once in a while making a playoff run."

So, now we wait and wonder how the coaching search is going and what insights Dolan obtains after talking to his players.

As always, time will tell. What the numbers already tell us is that Drury must go!
