According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers had a golden opportunity waiting for them on the night of the 2018 NBA Draft: A source said the Cavs were offered on draft night the chance to trade up to No. 3 with the Hawks in a deal that would’ve sent Kent Bazemore to Cleveland. If the Cavaliers were to pull the trigger on this trade, it would have had to involve the eighth pick in the draft, which the team used to select Collin Sexton from Alabama. They also would have had to include Kevin Love ($24.1 million), George Hill ($19.0 million) or JR Smith ($14.7 million) with the pick in order to match Bazemore's salary ($18.1 million) due to the fact that the Cavaliers are over
