That is so 2011!! In fact, i was a honey badger for Halloween, 2011. My roommate bought a stuffed honey badger that plays quotes from the video that year.
Tyrann Matthieu got his nickname because of that video. I don't think he "got it", or maybe didn't like Randall's narration, hence he never really embraced the nickname.
Wow, i really can't believe anyone, particularly Cardinals fans after drafting Matthieu, hasn't seen that video. Funny stuff for sure! That particular upload has 62.5 million views!

Just for the record, and maybe it's just me, but I don't do college ball (until they hit the playoff format next year). I don't even pay attention until before the draft when people on here mention college players (which is excellent coverage by the way). That being said, out of all the Mathieu videos posted on here this was the first time this one was posted.

It had nothing to do with TM. It was a viral internet meme for a while, and was SOOO big that LSU fans started calling TM the Honey Badger on their boards, dropping the "doesn't give a ****" and "takes what he wants" quotes as well. Then broadcast announcers dropped "he takes what he wants" in connection to him as the Honey Badger.
Nobody posted it earlier probably because those who had seen it all assumed everyone knew that was the source of the nickname.
But it's still super funny.
