Plot Summary: In director Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited," three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other -- to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman star in this film about their adventure and their friendship.

I was disappointed, but I think it's because my expectations were very, very high. I LOVE wes Anderson and was really looking forward to this one.

That said, it IS a good movie. It just doesn't have the pacing that Life Aquatic or Tanenbaums had, IMO.

Favorite line:
Indian on bus: "What are you doing in this part of the world?"

Owen Wilson: "Well, we were on a spiritual journey, but that didn't really pan out."

Enjoyed the flick. Very funny. Not as good as Rushmore or Life Aqautic for me, but IMO better than Tannenbaums.

Rita was gorgeous.

The 3 stars had great chemistry throughout the film. Houston's role was pretty good, liked seeing the similarities twixt her and Owen's characters.

Ugh. Went for too low-key, and became far too low-key. I haven't seen Rushmore, but aside from that one, his movies have been a steady decline for me. The Royal Tennenbaums (sp?) absolutely and completely rocked. Had my friend and I rolling. Life Acquatic was much more 'meh', but with some really funny stuff. The Darjeeling Limited was so pointless that I turned it off, although that Indian girl that played Rita was smokin'. I really wanted to see this one to see if Life Aquatic was just a fluke, but I was really disappointed. Oh well. If he comes out with another, I'll be even less enthusiastic.

Just got Rushmore from Netflix and checked it out. A really fun movie that reminded me of how good the Royal Tennenbaum's was a lot more than the Darjeeling Limited did. Darjeeling blew; Rushmore mildly rocked. Tennenbaum's really rocked. Life Aquatic kind of strummed.

The movie was great but not as good as the Rushmore or the Tannenbaums. Never saw Life Aquatic though.... Now I am intrigued.

If we all liked the same thing, wouldn't life be boring?

Yeah, I loved Life Aquatic. One of my favorites ... maybe THE favorite.

Just watched it. Definitely enjoyable to watch once. I don't think I'd ever watch it again though. I loved the dialog and chemistry between the 3 actors, very entertaining.

I've liked all of Anderson's movies, but Rushmore stands out as my favorite.

I liked the soundtrack. I got it from the library a few weeks ago and loaded it to my ipod. Great stuff.

Finally saw it, not as good as Tanenbaums but better than Life Aquatic.
