There are 12 teams who have never won a Super Bowl. Several have made appearances but failed to win.

Before you click on the link, see how many you can name???

In your opinion, which team is the closest to being the next one to get the SB monkey off their back?

Which team is the furthest from ending the curse of the Empty Trophy Case?

Check out PP's mug shot representing the Cards.

I can name them all easily and sadly the number dropped to 12 just last month. I happily cheered on the Patriots to beat Atlanta as much as I hate NE. I don't want to be a fan of the only franchise to never win a Super Bowl so I'm always going to pull for whoever plays the Bills, Browns, Bengals, Texans, Titans, Jags, Chargers, Vikings, Lions, Panthers, or Falcons.
I think the Cards have the longest drought for any ultimate championship, though, as all of the remaining non-Super Bowl winners are either younger or won a championship since 1947 before the merger.
I think the team closest to winning among them is the Jags(with Cards a close second) and furthest is the Browns.
And the link says the Chargers never played in a Super Bowl. Wrong.

Good catch on the Chargers---they played in the SB in 1994. The online quiz has them listed as the 'Los Angles Chargers' so I guess that would be the 'out' for the author of the quiz. It was the San Diego Chargers and not the Los Angles Chargers who went to the SB and lost. (See slide 6 of the slideshow).

My neighbor and his 12 year-old son are big Card fans and the three of us have dueling Cardinal trivia. I'm amazed at how much the 12 year-old knows about the Cards and sports in general. When it comes to the Cards, he's the 'Rainman.'

He already knows he wants to be a sports writer and is the next Bob Costas. Wish I had that kind of focus as a kid (or even as an adult. LOL). He also caught the error with naming the Chargers when he could only name 11 teams as not appearing in the SB. I was able to name 11 as well only because I've been watching the SB since game 1.

The Jags have gone about the business of building their roster---not sure if the extension to Blake Bortles was the right move at QB. Their owner wanted to buy the Rams prior to their moving out of St. Louis. Kroenke won out and had no intentions of staying in the St. Louis market with LA open for business. St. Louis fans probably wish Kahn was the owner---they'd probably have their team since Kahn's business interests are located in Illinois.

If the Browns could ever hit on all their high draft picks they would be able to assemble a core that could get them to the big game. The way they squander their draft assets is a crime against profootball. At this moment, the Browns would be last on my list as well---and that can change with one good draft class and FA signings with their cap space.

It hurt to see the Eagles win---that goes back to the old days when they were a Cards rival along with the Cowpies, Giants, and Washington. Then again, who wants to see the Pats win yet another trophy (besides Pat fans).
