The fact that I will never see this game again is killing me.

I saw a few of you guys who share the same sentiment as me. I just can't. I've done well enough to not all out bawl (yet) but the sight of us scrapping our azzes off to come back in that game will cause me to lose it. I still haven't seen the second half of the Bears game (although it's been played a million times already) so know I will never see D-Dock take over, Kurt look flat out masterful, and Fitz own the field as it happened again. That's what hurts me to my heart. The refs and the Pittsburgh Steelers have taken whatever enjoyment and right to our Cardinal Super Bowl and relished it to a painful memory. I will never stop repping this team (wore my hat Monday) and I couldn't be more proud, but I will let my friends and family tell me what an awesome game it was, because I don't think I'll ever truly know just how good it was.

C'mon Philly... you know as well as I do that by all rights, the mere fact that this team made it to the Super Bowl, let alone get within a fraction of winning it, was more than we all had a right to expect from this team.
I too was devastated when Ben weazled away from Dockett on the 1st and 20 play from his own 12 yard line, and somehow completed the pass to Holmes... And then Francisco slips and allows Holmes to peel off a 40 yarder... It's a nightmare for sure. But then, even in the midst of this tragic loss, the Cards gained more respect across the globe than we could have ever hoped for.
The loss sucked... no doubt. BUT, the Cards leaped into the hearts and minds of a worldwide audience... Everywhere I go, and everyone I speak to was and is now pulling for our team. We finally EARNED the respect we deserve... Take solace in that man and let's focus on helping this team remain on top!!! For if they crap the bed next season, the repercussions will be far more devastating than the loss on Sunday...

I can see both points of view here. But 82CardsGrad you definitely have the correct view. The only way this will end up not being a truly great thing over time, is if the Cards don't take advantage of it and slide backwards. If so, then this thing is just going to become the defining tragedy of a team that is simply tragic. Thats not what I see for us though. As as long as we don't turn around and give it back, we have earned a ton of respect here and we can forward as a balls out, you'd better watch your ass when you play the Cardinals, legit NFL team. Which is what most of us have been dreaming of for years on end.

I'll watch this game again. In 50 years when I am 80 and the Cardinals are 5 time Super Bowl champs. I will watch this game and believe or not enjoy it for the entertaining, masterful game that it was. Then I will laugh my ass off and say to myself "remember when you thought it was the end of the world when the Cards pissed this one away?"

Larry's few grabs for a 100+ yards in 6 minutes in the 4th quarter is absolutely freaking incredible and a feat that I dare say will never be topped in another Super Bowl, or NFL game for that matter.

I totally agree. I started watching the game (stupidly, I might add) when I got home from my SB party. It did nothing for me. I tried to watch highlights. It made me sad.

I forced myself to read the paper on Monday. That was all I could really handle.

I don't know when I will watch that game again. Probably never. And I think that's okay. I can have pride in this team without being a masochist. Yes, it was a great game, but it doesn't mean I have to see it again.

I am with you. I will never watch it again. I turn the channel quick when highlights come on.

I have yet to watch it and dont think I will, besides this board I have stayed away from ESPN etc. I feel still stunned and cant process my emotions.

82 you ARE right. I know that. But the whole problem I have just days after the game is that there is no guarantee that we will make it back again next year. While I'll be ecstatic that we will turn it around as a franchise form here on if that's the case, it still doesn't take away the fact that we were mere minutes from being champs. You just don't know when you're going to get back to this point again. Ask the Chargers, Falcons, or Bengals. I think I will lean more your way once the Cards news starts picking up, the draft approaches and a few key moves are hypothesized about. For now, shutting the game and it's memories down is all I know.

I'll watch a recording of the game when we finally win a super bowl...then I'll be able to look back to Sunday with not as much sadness.

I've been watching Forensic Files, Modern Marvels, Military Channel, etc anything but ESPN, NFL. Even read 2 books already in 3 days.

Can't bring myself to watch TIVO or delete the game yet. Don't know which will prevail. Too soon for me. I can't get the picture of Fitz running the go ahead score out of my mind, thinking that is how it ended. Shakespeare tragedy status still

Maybe in a week or so, I can get into the draft coverage

I'll never watch it again either. Even watching the great plays by the Cards is heartbreaking when you know the gut-punch is coming at the end.

I was talking with some Bronco fans at work about the loss. One of them seemed to think that while the loss sucked and it was heartbreaking (everybody at work was pulling for the Cards), it could possibly help them in the future should they make it to the SB again.

Why? I asked.

One said that after the Broncs losses in the SB it gave the team a much tougher demeanor in the regular season. More importantly when they did finally make it back to the SB, most of the Vets (Elway, Sharpe, ect.) didn't talk to the media that much in attempt to focus and take care of business as usual.

With such young team, particularly on D, maybe they did get caught up in the moment with all the glitz and glory. We do have a lot of SB newbies as compared with Pissburgh

I dunno, just some thoughts.

I watched the first half last night and will watch the whole game tonight on NFL replay. Being at the game you don't see as much as TV shows.

I wanted to see the refs calls and make my own desisons if they were good or bad. I have to say the first half was pretty clean, I thought all the penalties were legit. The only one I might even think about was the chop block, when Edge hit him low LS only had a hand on his shoulder. I am not sure if that would be considered "engaged" or not, but it probably is.

I also had to see the commercials, no really good ones in the first half. That kinda sucks not being able to fast forward through them.

me too.and every time a station starts talking about the game i turn the channel.

I have avoided ESPN, ESPN2, FSNAZ, news shows, and late night tv since the loss.

Next time I watch anything to do with football on tv will be for the NFL Draft.

In the end, it WAS a great football game! Sports is entertainment after all. It will be painful - as a Cardinals fan - to re-live a loss. But it was the SUPER BOWL! (I still can't believe we even played in one) ... I will watch the game again at some point. And I'll probably watch it more than once over the years. Eventhough it was a loss, it will still remind me how good I felt when they beat the Eagles and actually made their 1st SB! I loved the 2 week lead up...I loved that we were in the game...I loved that this team kept fighting until the very end and COULD have won! Good grief - I've been so desperate for Cardinals Playoff games in the past I've re-watched the losses against the Vikings in 98/99 and the Packers in 82/83! ( yes, I have that game ) ...much less the Dallas victory! Heck, I wish I had the actual broadcast of the playoff games agains the Rams and the Vikings in the 70's. I'd re-watch those if I could! (anybody got 'em?) I guess I could be considered "pathetic" by fans of other teams huh... who wants to watch a loss afterall??? guess I'll feel different 20 years from now when the Cards have a bunch of SB's under their belt. Until then, it was an AMAZING year and I won't feel bad reliving certain games again -- even the Super Bowl.

(anybody got the DALLAS game from this year they could share? My DVR messed up on that game and I don't have it!!! I'll trade if there's a game you'd like...)

 our...boys...were...champions...for...2...minutes...

I can agree with both sides of this. I personally cannot get myself to watch the game tonight . However, I am SO proud of what the team has done in terms of their reputation and it even sounds like the Cards have bandwagon fans! How odd is that?

I pray that the players that want to stay (and deserve to stay) get resigned and we go at this again. I realize how hard it is for a team to get there but I think the foundation has been set and Whiz willl deliver.

Even coach Whiz has said that he can't look at the game film, it still hurts.
