My least favorite player of all time Tie Domi is retiring. I did not like Domi but I loved him as an NHL player for what he stood for. Rough play, fights, fighting literally tooth and nail on the ice.

My idol, Kasparaitis, is another player that symbolises what hockey used to mean to me as a kid. As a teenage I was a die hard NHL fan. Now players like Kasp are hanging on because of long successful careers waiting until retirement and not contributing much to todays game or retiring.

Its a sad end to what was the greatest sport (other than football) in my lifetime. When you knew if you were going to board the other teams star you better be prepared to face one of their bruisers and pay for it.

I will accept my thrashing I will get from posters here i just wanted to say a few words of respect for a game that time forgot. Salute to the players of old time hockey. Thank you for every exciting moment you gave us!

Problem is that old time hockey fans stopped buying tickets and the new family-friendly NHL is selling out arenas.

Tie Domi was a thug who couldn't handle life being a midget

I like Bob "coke head" Probert and Rob Roy better. He'll I'll even go with Marty McSorley over Domi

The only reason I will miss seeing Domi on the ice is because I won't be able to boo the hell outta him!

My best Domi moment was at a Thrashers game in Atlanta. He got sent to the penalty box and, while on his way there, the sound people played Shania Twain's "I Feel Like a Woman." The crowd went nuts! What an awesome time.

Screw Tie Domi. Punk!

The thing I'll most remember about Tie Domi was that one time a drunken fan jumped into the penalty box to challenge Domi. Good times.

I love the grit and rough play in hockey, and I don't think it will ever leave the sport. However, I also absolutely love the skill play that we have seen recently now that the NHL has finally cracked down on the clutch and grab. I've never been a fan of the enforcer type who has little actual hockey playing ability other than fighting, and I don't mind that these guys are slowly dwindling. I would much rather see gritty players that can not only dish out the hits, but play well in the other aspects of the game as well, and I think the NHL is moving along in that direction.
