to start: i absolutely love these film room features the Cards do every week.

1. Give Philly's coaches credit -- they ran a deep pick play where Riley Cooper runs into the Honey Badger to free Jordan Matthews to the corner of the endzone.

2. Rashad Johnson ruins a good play design by reading the throw, coming off his guy (based on the throw), and going for the push out to ensure an incompletion.

If Foles threw the ball sooner and more on a line that was more in bounds, we would be singing a very different tune... Still, even with Rashad nudging him, I'm amazed Mathews couldn't have stayed in bounds...

Foles couldn't make the throw you describe because of the pass rush.

Rashad made a great play to seal the victory as Bucannon did the play before.

Rashad was on top of it, but I think even if he wasn't there to push him out, Matthews would have caught it out of bounds anyways. Looks like he was coming down out of bounds before the push.

Agreed. It would be the "How in the holy hell did the back judge NOT throw a flag for that completely ILLEGAL and absolutely BLATANT pick that Riley Cooper threw on the Honey Badger".

Not sure about that... Foles wasn't touched on the play. We did show some pressure, but Foles had a chance to make the throw sooner and more in bounds... But, he didn't....which sux for him!! :)

I dunno. I have seen too many catches where in real time you think no way that was in bounds -- but in replay you see two toe taps for a good catch.

With Rashads big push, Matthews foot BAs ob by 8". Not hard to imagine it coming down in bounds without the push.

Fwiw: in that instance, Foles needs to step into the throw and absorb a big hit in order to throw the ball more on a line. How many times have we seen Warner and Palmer take a hit in order to deliver a throw?

If Fols isn't going to take a hit in that game situation, then when?

Eagles fans are all bitching about how he backpedaled 15 yards and threw off the back foot instead of stepping into it. Meaning the ball is more likely to float. Which it did. It would've taken an Olympic Gymnast to catch that ball and keep their feet in bounds. But, Johnson insured he didn't keep even one foot in bounds, much less two.

The Eagles fans complaints about Foles on that play are much like the ones Cards fans would make about Kolb when he was under pressure.

The blitz was the key. If the Cards had not blitzed they would have given Foles too much time and he would have found someone. Credit to Bowles for making the right call.

And I love it!

I would rather die by the blitz than the Pendy-Prevent any day of the week.

Campbell said it was a smart decision by Johnson:

“There’s no such thing as a force-out anymore. It used to be, but they changed that rule, so it was one of those things where I was hoping, ‘Force him out. Sweep his legs. Don’t let him get his feet down. Whatever it takes. If you’ve got to grab him and sling him, just push him out.’ That’s what makes Rashad Johnson a great player. He understands the rules of the game and what it takes to win.”

Seems like RJ gets plenty of respect from the big guy.

Our secondary is just nasty... If you would have told me before the season started that PP would be one of the weaker links, I would have laughed.

He seems to be struggling something fierce with the NFL's new "higher score" policy.
