It's a slightly offbeat cop show starring Matt Passmore and costarring Carlos Gomez. If the pilot is any indication, I think this show is a keeper. Really like the main character although I'm not familiar with him as an actor.

Not a fan IMO. Its the 50th sarcastic crime solver TV show to come out in like the past 3 years. It isnt original in its approach, story lines, and doesn't do it any better then the others. Another one the 50 or so sarcastic crime solver TV shows that has come out at about the same "Memphis Beat" is far better IMO.

I was gonna let this comment pass but the more I thought about it, the harder it was to do that. I watch a lot of TV and for the life of me I can't figure out what "50 or so sarcastic crime solvers" you're referring to. Honestly, I can't think of a single character that this guy brings to mind. The closest I come is if you were to add Columbo to Hawkeye Pierce (minus the Groucho act) but even that misses the mark.

I find him to a be a fairly unique character (not just currently but throughout the history of TV) and although the cases are mostly routine I think this is a great show that deserves an audience. I hope it finds one.

The overall feel of the show reminds me of 'Justified'. However, I love sarcasm so the more shows like this the better. I can also see a little bit of 'Memphis' or whatever the show is with the 'my name is earl' dude.

I really like Justified and, as in Glades, it's the lead character that makes it work for me. Both leads use sarcasm at times but I don't think it defines either character. Justified is an edgier show than the Glades and the US Marshall is frequently a train wreck waiting to happen but it also has a stronger supporting cast. I watch (and like) Memphis Beat but I don't think it holds a candle to either Justified or the Glades.

Justified
Mentalist
Pysch
Burn Notice
Memphis Beat
Monk

Just to name only a few. All quirky crime solver types with no respect for authorities and do things their own quirky way. TV is riddled with the shows right now. Just like TV used to be riddled with the Medical Drama's then the Procedural Attorney/Police Drama's, then the reality game shows. TV is a copy cat business and this character isn't even close to being unique IMO.

Well, if you meant quirky rather than sarcastic I guess I can see your point (you could add Justified and Lie To Me in that case) but there's quite a difference between each of those shows. Not liking it is one thing but writing it off because there are other "quirky detectives" makes little sense to me. It would be like writing off Rizzoli and Isles because there are other female detectives with breasts; it's not all that specific and is certainly not something I've tired of.

If that's a list of shows you don't like I can certainly see why you don't like the Glades. You've just listed several of my favorite shows. I guess if you're looking for a cop kind of show where the leads are devoid of personality you could check out Dark Blue.
