The Good Guys (Fox)

Anyone catch this one on Fox? I caught it on Hulu...

Cliched premise beyond belief (opposite buddy cop show set in Dallas), but the actors are good and just the right level of tongue in cheek. Colin Hanks (who gets more and more like dad Tom Hanks all the time), and Bradley Whitford from West Wing.

Made me laugh...more than once. It'll stay on the viewing list for the summer.

I like the style and it is pretty funny, and the main girl in the show is incredibly hot, but there is virtually zero chemistry between the two male leads.

It's cliched on purpose and that's what I like about it.

It doesn't take itself serious in anyway and the incredible, inane plots are hilarious.

I especially love the end action sequences when a bad ass rock song starts playing and some of the worst action breaks out.

Not sure what it is about this show but tried the two first episodes and it just bored be to tears. I like the actors, I like the premise, I like that it doesn't take its self seriously, but it just doesn't work at all for me. It got horrible premiere ratings and has gone down ever week since then. It is probably doomed.

i loathe Colin Hanks and have never found him to have a modicum of talent so I'm happy this nepotistic ass' show is going down in flames.

Yeah, he really annoys me too. Band of Brothers was so well cast that I forgave them when he showed up for his episode but he was clearly inferior to the actors around him. Although Roswell was quite forgettable he lowered the quality there also. I have quite an imagination but trying to believe he was in a relationship with Katherine Heigl was beyond me.

completely agreed on BOB. That was nepotism at it's absolute worst and was easily my least favorite episode of a mini-series that was otherwise flawless.

I think it would be entirely appropriate to sneak a Brothers reference into every thread on the board. As an added bonus we could toss in the occasional cheap shot at Colin.

I agree he's not a great actor - that's actually why I like him in this show. The whole straight-man in a farcical 80's buddy cops spoof fits his talents or lack thereof well, IMO.

Ah well, it'll get canceled which is ultimately fine. Firefly it is not, but works as dumb summer viewing with a beer.
