Plot Summary: A one-of-a-kind experience that is guaranteed to shock and divide audiences, Dutch filmmaker Tom Six's twisted biological horror film, "The Human Centipede" confidently goes where few films have dared to go. In addition to its shocking imagery, the film also features an indelibly villainous performance by Dieter Laser, whose brilliant and demented Dr. Heiter is sure to soon join the ranks of Freddy, Jason and Jigsaw whenever true horror icons are discussed.

During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree road trip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help they find only an isolated villa, whose mysterious owner, Dr. Heiter, takes them in for the night. The next day they awake to find themselves in the basement, trapped in a terrifying makeshift hospital with another one of the doctor's abductees. Dr Heiter explains to the three of them that he is retired surgeon who had specialized in separating Siamese twins. However his three "patients" are not about to be separated, but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first to connect people, one to the next, via their gastric system, and in doing so bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy: 'the human centipede'.

Per the wiki page, the idea of the movie came from the director's idea for how to deal with child molesters:

"The concept of the film arose from a joke Tom Six made with friends about punishing child molesters by stitching their mouth to the anus of a fat truck driver."

A friend just mentioned this film. Never heard of it. No desire to see, but I guess they are making a sequel...

Netflix is streaming it. I've been tempted to watch just based on the trainwreck fascination factor. It just seems SO bizarre.

I just noticed the lead's name: Dieter Laser. This guy just sounds sick.

I was expecting this one to be extremely disgusting, disturbing, and shocking...overhyped. Very little is truly shocking, some is pretty contrived and
silly. The only recent 'shocker' film I've seen was AntiChrist. That one had some moments that were indeed disturbing.

Watched this last night on Netflix. Really creepy flick. The scene with the cops was horrific, though. The cops seemed more like strip club bouncers, than undercovers. They also seemed a bit Barney Fife. Dieter Laser is a creepy, creepy looking dude. He was born to play these types of parts in movies.

What a weird movie. Certainly not as dumb as I thought it would be. The lead actor is one creepy ****.

Agree with all of this. It was definitely disturbing, but not as much as I was expecting. I doubt I'll bother with the sequels.
