Suns management wants to remove the interim tag from Alvin Gentry and make him their coach for seasons to come.

Gentry wants to be the Suns' coach. Suns players want him to be the coach.

This might be the biggest blunder in Suns history.. But I have to hold out hope.. After all... I been a Cards fan since 1988.. So this is minor in that aspect.. I just dont want this to turn into depression..

They all like him plus they don't have to pay to hire a new coach so its win/win for sarver he saves his image with the team and money.

c'mon Gee Gentry is the best option we have right now. He is extremely popular with the players and can communicate with anyone well. I don't see this as a problem even if we got bunch of new players coming in. Obviously there are better coaches out there like JVG or Avery Johnson but we simply don't have the money to create a lucrative contract for them.

Could there even be a single NBA fan, let alone a Suns fan, who would still think the Suns would be better off with Porter than Gentry. I'd say no.

Meh, its best to hire a pushover or "players" coach when you have as many big egos as the Suns do. Its a good move to keep him for now, but once we start the rebuilding process, they need to make a calls around the league and get someone else in.

Because of what Nash has done here in Phoenix (MVP years, made us contenders for a few years and sold a ton of seats,) he wont be traded. Same thing with Shaq, only its his career outside of phx, but still.

Because we did fabulous this year when "the biggest ego on the team" was out. I am not arguing that he doesn't have the biggest ego, but to think that this team was better without him is nothing short of stupidity.
