Cat man will be fine. Butler has got to go.

We are hitting 93% of extra points, league is hitting 94%. I think thats within the realm of acceptable. Cat has missed 1 40-49 yarder and last nights 55 yarder by a hair right, plenty of distance. Im not worried about him.

Everybody and their mother has been saying "it's just a matter of time before Butler gets a punt blocked." Even the TV announcers called it right before it happened.

(raises hand) Yeah I've been one of them. It can be argued that last night's block wasn't his fault, but then again, look at how slow he was getting the kick away. Glacially slow, with an onslaught coming right at him. That's my #2 gripe against him, he's a slow-ass punter. #1 gripe is he kicks way to many duds and his overall average is at the bottom of the league. We could have signed Weatherford, he was out of work quite a while, but has now caught on with the Jets. Somebody else has to be out there that's better.

Replace Butler yesterday. Catanzaro has through the season (assuming he doesn't regress), then would like to see open competition.

I like replace Butler now.. and by no means do I think Catanzaro is safe for the rest of the season, but I don't think he's done enough to get replaced ASAP.

Well we overcame a blocked punt and missed PAT close together, so that's good. Butler was have pictures because I thought for sure he would be gone this year. I'd hang in with Cat still. More kickers are having trouble this year.

Butler has played 22 games for the Big Red and has had 4 punts blocked. By contrast Dave Zastudil played 60 games and never once had a punt blocked. Butler is not only a "block" risk but has regularly "shanked" punts resulting in poor field position. If Ariens is in love with the guy because of the one year he played for the Steelers that love is unrequited by the fans. Butler is dreadful and almost cost us the game last night and sadly will cost us others in the future.

Weatherford looked like garbage for the Jets in his 1st game... I'm sure a lot of it was rust, but I think his 1st punt went for 34 yards, 2nd was a line drive for 47 yards & was returned for 17-20 yards... his 3rd was finally a good punt.

Catman stats:

17th in extra point percentage (league wide is 94.1%) Catman is 92.9%
1st in extra points made (he's 26/28... NE has 24 extra points made)

FG's he's 17th in percent (11th in field goals made)

To be upset for him missing 2 of each is odd, since he's kicking so much more than those other guys due to our offense being significantly better than average.

Butler takes too long to get off a punt and his punts are not worth the wait when he does... and even though the protection was busted, the guy should have some football sense to realize his wait till Doomsday approach to punting should then be ignored and get rid of the ball even if it does not get very far
