All their eggs are in Marbury's basket.

If Marbury proves unable to deliver, or his health fails, the Knicks are done--for a decade.

They've traded away picks and all their expiring contracts and young talent.

They have 4 max contracts (Marbs, Penny, Houston, and Van Horn) and Marbs is the only one that is remotely worth it.

They are already saying that they are hoping Marbs will help make up for Houston's DEFENSIVE shortcomings.

Does anyone know the terms of the second pick that is coming. We know that it is conditional, what are the conditions?

After this season I will definitely cheer for Marbury and his success, but I really don't see how they are ever going to be anything better than the third or fourth best team in the Eastern conference. Indiana, Detroit, and upcoming teams like Cleveland and maybe even Miami are going to be better. It would appear that the Knicks have almost no room for improvement since they have basically forfeited their future to acquire Marbury.

I agree, they did improve their team. But they act like this is the move they needed to win the next 2 or 3 championships.

They have totally killed thier future, no cap room for freeagents, and no draft picks to help improve or trade.

So I would say this trade is even. We helped our futer alor and took a step back(maybe). And they killed thier future, to win now.
