Curtis Granderson led off the bottom of the first with a 410-foot drive to right-center off Edinson Volquez on an 0-2 pitch. Volquez settled after Granderson hit that 87 mph offering for his third homer of the World Series. Volquez struck out David Wright and Daniel Muprhy before getting Yoenis Cespedes to ground out.
