Without faith in an afterlife, will he be able to make a decision? It's up to police officer Hollis (Howard) to save both their lives but the clock is ticking in this edge-of-your-seat film that will leave you gasping until the final frame.

This is being regarded as "Brokeback Mountain for atheists". I don't get the analogy because I never saw Brokeback Mountain, but maybe someone here could connect the dots for me.

I don't see how this movie promotes any particular message. We've already seen religious moralist villains who are fixated on religious doctrine and obsessed with the targets of their scorn. Besides, this looks like a play off of Phone Booth and The Box.

In the end, I think this will prove to be as effective a message vehicle for atheists as Atlas Shrugged was for sociopathic Libertarians.

Good short story, that might have made a good thriller, although there really wasn't enough material for a feature-length movie. Would have been a better Twilight Zone episode or something of that nature.

I don't get the whole atheist/believer angle. That seems forced. Nothing like that was in the original story.
