BTW, what the hell was Nash thinking shoving at Horry?? Raja, yeah, that's his job and he does it well, but Nash needs to keep his crap together. The Suns can win without Amare, but the can not win without Nash. There is NO reason for him to pop up and start pushing and run the risk of getting tossed for a game.

As dumb as it was for Amare to come on the court, it was ten times as dumb for Nash to jump up shoving...it's the freaking playoffs for goodness sake. Let Raja play the enforcer role, which he's damn good at. You get up, shake it off, kiss your bicep, whatever...just don't run the risk of getting tossed for a game. If Horry was Bruce Bowen, he would have swung on Nash in hopes of getting him to get suspended. But Horry isn't a dirty ass player like Bowen...he just dropped a hard, frustrated foul.

We were really robbed of feeling good about this win because of all hijinx involved. Horry acted like a real punk...not only with the shove but his arrogant walk away after the fact. He sure didnt act like he cared if Nash was hurt or not.

Now we have to worry about keeping out players PLAYING. Amare in particular is having trouble staying in these games and he's probably our biggest weapon against these guys!! Either he's fouling like a madman or doing other questionable things.

If the Suns could just keep their wits about them this series could be ours!

I agree. Rules are rules though. Hopefully Stu Jackson and Stern make the proper judgment call at this point though. It would be sad to see a rough foul by Horry change the course of the series when the game was CLEARLY already over. It's not like it broke out into an all out melee, so one can hope that the league office takes this into consideration. I mean seriously... what cruel fate would it be? We finally make it over the 'hump' and make an epic comeback on the road against our, now, biggest rival only to have it all potentially go for naught due to a technicality on an iffy rule

It might be an iffy rule but everyone knows about it. Amare (and others) are rolling the dice on this one...I dont think it was worth the gamble. Lets the refs do their job and stay on the bench. Raja Bells tech wasnt the smartest either...The Suns might end up losing this series to stupidity.

I really just hope the league office is lenient on this one. Is it not creating a double-standard by not suspending Bowen for his physicality (Knee to the jewels, kicking Amare, and undercutting Nash in game 2), and then suspending those two for walking the line on an iffy rule? I really believe it is. It sucks we're even having this talk though. If over could have just manned up it wouldn't be an issue.

I think it's an interesting contrast in coaches when you look at the words they use to describe the style of play they want. ESPN is always showing what coaches wrote on the dry-erase boards before the game. With Pop, it's always something being being patient, trust the system, play it smart and hard for 48. With D'Antoni, it's always passion or something equally emotional.

Well, other than Horry at the end of the game, I think the Spurs did their part. I think the Suns definitely followed suit with their coach's instructions, too, only they took it a little too far. Amare is all passion, no brains. It really makes you wonder when he's going to start playing the game (the whole game -- practice, film session, the game itself) with his head and not just his heart.

For a game/series of this magnitude there's no way Amare and Diaw get suspended for what they did. It's debatable that they even left the bench area and they did not come out looking for a fight. Considering the circumstances (Nash being leveled right in front of them) I don't think Stern will allow them to be punished with suspensions.

Everyone ought to check out the ESPN SportsNation poll, it ask if Amare should be suspended or not. Currently 76% of voters say no, on a state by state basis the only state that voted yes is Hawaii (but its only 7 votes), even the state of Texas votes no (I assume a lot of Rockets/Mavs fans who are Spurs haters want to see SA go down). Hopefully Stern will keep in mind what the fans seem to want.

The league office has room to suspend or not to suspend on this one. Its just a matter of what they WANT to do. Here are some sample press releases.

1. After reviewing the tape the league has determined that the two players moved to check on the welfare of their fallen teammate and returned to the bench when it became clear that tempers were escalating. No suspensions are warranted.

2. After reviewing the tape the league has determined that the two players in question remained reasonably on the sidelines and chose not to confront any player coach or referee. No suspension.

3. After reviewing the tape that while there was a hard foul committed and there was some jawing back and forth on the court, the incident did not rise to the level of an altercation. In fact, while there was an initial emotional reaction, all players involved went to their designated places and controlled their emotions in a commendable fashion. No suspension.

No one would argue with any of those responses from the league office.

They just had Jalen Rose on First Take. He said when the Spurs center dunked early in the game, landed on a Suns player and hit the ground, Duncan left the bench and Bowen pulled him back.

So if Amare is suspended, take Duncan too!

Multiple replays showed Amare waaay inside the court area, far from scorers table

I haven't seen those. The replays I saw had Stoudemire going toward Nash in as direct a line as possible from the bench through the throng of people. Did Stoudemire make two trips (and have I not seen the second one)?

First of all, I hope he is not. I want both teams to play at full strength, although I would not be upset if Horry is suspended for one game....that was uncalled for.

However...IF Amare is suspended:

It is his own fault. He has all the talent in the world but gives up stupid fouls and then leaves the bench...if he ever matures, he will be a beast.

He left the bench and it was not to check in. I think it is a silly rule but it is a rule and he did break it...clearly.

Don't blame the Spurs if he is suspended...blame Amare.

Suns fans need to start throwing beers and coins at Spurs players next game, in order to entice them to run up in the stands and start swinging. It would only be fair.

I would never endorse this, of course, but your plan seems to assume that people within throwing distance (i.e. paying fans in the lower tier) would care so much as to do something like that. We should be so lucky if they care so much as to cheer the team on like the knew a little bit about basketball. You know, like when the Suns are on defense, rather than offense.

Anyone have video of Duncan stepping on the court and Bowen pulling him back in the 2nd quarter when Elson and James Jones got mixed up on Elsons dunk?

Cause if they call the Horry/Nash incident a "Altercation" then they have to also consider the Elson/Jones incident an altercation.

If so and Duncan did indeed step onto the court from the bench, then you can't possibly suspend Amare and Diaw without also tossing Duncan for a game.

So if we lose Amare and Diaw and the Spurs lose Duncan and Horry, who now has the advantage for game 5?

Hopefully Stern and Jackson man-up and just hand out fines instead of nitpicking on a little BS rule. Only Horry should be suspened and everyone else should get a slap on the wrist for being involved.
