The Message (Arabic: الرسالة‎ Ar-Risālah; originally known as Mohammad, Messenger of God) is a 1976 epic historical drama film directed by Moustapha Akkad, chronicling the life and times of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Released in Arabic (1976) and English (1977), The Messageserves as an introduction to early Islamic history.

The film was nominated for Best Original Score in the 50th Academy Awards, composed by Maurice Jarre, but lost the award to Star Wars(composed by John Williams).




I think this was the first film I've ever watched about Mohammad. Looong slooow film. Took a lot of patience to get through it.

Not sure how it ended up in my netflix queue, but i noticed it's ranked #15 of '70s films on iCheckMovies.

Assuming the non green items in your list are movies you haven’t seen? You should definitely see Autumn Sonata and Dersu Uzala. Both are great.
