I am a Navy Reservist and I just noticed that my Reserve Center scheduled drill weekend on the weekend of the SuperBowl. So I went to the internet to find out what time the game starts. I could find everything under the sun about the Super Bowl except for what time the game actually starts. Any help would be appreciated. I drive 5 hours so I am screwed even if it starts at 6pm central. Nice to see the Navy is looking out for us many Reservists who travel. Who schedules drill weekend on SuperBowl Sunday?

LOL

Should've joined the better service, we always get a half day at least for the Super Bowl, if not the day off.

Plus we don't have as many gay uniforms...(Go ARMY!)

I've spent time in the reserves myself and if I remember correctly the 1st/Capt always cut people out "big event" days. We just had to stay an extra half day later in the year.

It's another reason active duty is the better way to go.

At least you won't be flying into China to take a group of engineers to Guam then spend 3 weeks at sea on your way to Alaska..... Welcome to my world. I'll hear about it when I get back. LOL.

And by the way, if you get a chance to look up POW CDR Dave Wheat (my father in law) he is a HUGE baseball fan but missed every game between 1965 and 1972 due to his stay at the luxurious Hanoi Hilton. Heck he didn't even know we'd been to the moon until someone in the prison got a post card in 1970 with the Armstrong stamp in the corner. I guess they whooping and hollaring that followed lasted neigh on a week!

Remember as bad as you've got it, our buddies in Iraq got it a hell of a lot worse. Go Navy!!!!

Semper Fi. I'll watch for all of you who can't.

Lieutenant, I would have loved to have seen China but never got the chance. I'm jealous. Super Bowls come and go. Cool experiences spice up life.

I know you probably enjoy what you do and bitching about it is a serviceman's right and moral duty.

My thread topic line might have been a little harsh. It may have been due to fact it was late and I was tired. Still scheduling could have been better for February drill. When active duty I missed lots of sporting events but drill weekend is not a deployment and better scheduling was possible. One year while deployed before internet I watched the World Series on tape a couple weeks late.

Thanks for info, Darth.
