no but as far as i know if the blu ray is 3d you can watch 3d, no?

Not exactly.

1. 3D-capable TV/Monitor with glasses

2. 3D-capable Blu-ray player

3. 3D-Blu-ray movie

You'll need all of the above to watch the new 3D stuff. There is still some of the old 3D stereoscopic (anaglyph) movies out there with the red and blue glasses but that is old Creature Feature type stuff that isn't the same as the newer active shutter technologies.

YES YES. Just in time. I was about to break down a get a couple more 3D Blu Ray players. By chance I have two going at the same time. This will take care of one.

Come on PS4.....take a clue from Microsoft!

You forgot to mention Passive 3D. Both active and Passive are superior to the old 3D and the new 3D TVs either use passive or active technology. Active glasses have batteries in them and are a bit heavier while 3D active glasses are the same you use in the theater. Only downside to passive (which I like better) is that if too close to the TV you see lines. From a distance it's not a problem.

Luckily the new 4K TV's solve that problem with Active 3D.

Daren's right, I forgot the modern passive stuff out there. Both of the new 3D techs give me headaches after a while so I'm not much of a proponent. I'm glad someone's enjoying it though!

That sucks. I really enjoy 3D this time around. I basically buy every 3D version of a movie out there so I can enjoy both depending on my mood. The old 3D used to give me headaches but this doesn't.

At least there is a choice. One of my best friends can't even see 3D. It's a known condition but he seriously can't see 3D. It's weird.

I'll try again in a couple of years once the 4K/UHD stuff settles on a spec and becomes a little more affordable. Being able to do twice the rez per eye could help alleviate the headaches.

Do you get headaches at the Theater? Because that would be full resolution.
