I anticipated it for a couple months,...and now I am enjoying it... Hiddleston is doing a great job and he and House appear to have chemistry on set together.

This show,...is the reason the buzz came up about Hiddleston possibly being James Bond

I was never bored with how the show started. You find out soon enough that he's not who he pretends to be and is motivated by things other than being a night manager at a 1st class hotel. The intrigue builds when he becomes 'recruited' It is based on a John LeCarre novel which generally don't start with someone coming at you with a knife or something like that. His were mostly cold war spy settings which move ploddingly and not always to a clear conclusion.

Even though they, at times, are glacial in their pacing, I just happen to like spy stories and am guessing that doesn't appeal to everyone.

Beyond the sun.
Amazing series. The opening graphics were more enjoyable than most of the stories on TV. At this point, I will watch anything involving Olivia Colman. She is a master of clearly displaying emotion through subtlety. The only minor complaint was Elizabeth Debicki. The acting from the rest of the cast was so impressive, it was made even more obvious that Debicki was boxing above her weight.
