I couldn't watch this game (not because of the terrible slump, but for other reasons) but damn, they need to get their S together already.

At least Tracy is hitting like he was before the injury problems...maybe he can jump start this team before this slump carries him down too.

Nice win, but this game was far from encouraging. The D'backs were still swinging for the fences, and all thinking homer or nothing. While it worked out tonight, on the whole, it probably won't. I would've been a lot more encouraged by a lot of singles, doubles, etc. and everyone getting involved on offense.

Either way, great game by Webby.

Gotta start somewhere man. We needed this win in the worst way!

And also, was that game less than 2 hours?? Wow! Enough time to get home a mow the lawn before it gets dark

Yeah, Webb tossing a complete game shutout and only 4 runs scored by the DBacks. I too am depressed.

Congrats on your literacy.

Where did I say I was depressed? All I was trying to say was, if in the next game the D'backs fail to score a run because they are still all trying to hit a homer with every at bat, I won't be surprised.

I see what you're saying, but this is similar to how they were playing at the beginning of the season; only solo home runs and these same worries for me. Like TJ said, you have to start somewhere. This team is too talented to be where they are and I expect them to pick it up soon, before another expected collapse in late July when we will start wondering about our playoff chances. This team is going to continue to play like this...we have many hitters prone to striking out. We just have to hope that guys like Hudson, Drew, Cojack, Tracy and Ojeda are getting some base hits for us down the stretch. And hopefully Byrnes can come back healthy and start stealing bases like he was last season.

Just because the team colors changed doesn't mean the team mojo has -- Diamondbacks have always tortured their fans throughout the long season, and no reason to expect anything different. We'll have some wild rides way up and way down -- I used to have an animated rollercoaster as my avatar.

Count me in the "concerned" crowd.... I still don't like this American League style of play that seems to engulf Bob Melvin lead teams when the bats go cold. Timely hitting is also a concern, the team went through a simular stretch last season approaching the playoffs

I thought all D-back home games were going to be in HD. Direct TV doesn't show a listing for todays game in HD this season. I can find in regular def, but not HD.

Me too....not the 1st time I anticipated an HD broadcast and not got one from FSN. Their HD feed stinks anyway :thumbdown

Of course, I absolute agree, HooverDam.

Did you see Bob Melvin's quote after the game? Something to the effect of . . . this is a homerun hitting team, and tonight they came through.

My goodness, he's criticizing himself and doesn't even know it. As long as our ace throws a shutout and a few of our wild swingers connect for solo home runs, we'll win some games. Geez!

Jackson is out another 3-5 days due to a leg strain, according to the Republic.
