John Woo is directing and someone named Jason Lewis is He-Man. I wonder who Skelator will be and if this time it will take place on thier planet and not on earth like the crappy one that came out in the 80's

Jason Lewis is played Smith Jarrod in Sex and the City.... my wife watched that show religiously so I have seen just about every episode. He actually could be a good choice.

Also, I think Dolph Lundgren was the perfect choice in the cheesy 80's movie. It was a cool attempt, but the plot was a little hokey. Tela was hot as hell!!

I wonder who should play She-Ra?

Jennifer Garner, Lucy Lawless, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Alba, or Angelina Jolie immediately come to mind....

Frontrunners for the New He-Man Movie?
Source: The Daily Telegraph
January 2, 2005

Back in October of 2004 it was announced that John Woo will direct and produce He-Man, a live-action film based on the characters in Mattel's "Masters of the Universe".

Now The Daily Telegraph has posted a rumor on who may be the frontrunners:

[Ryan] Kwanten is one of the frontrunners to play He-Man in an upcoming film version of He-Man, due to be released in 2006.

The actor's profile has risen of late due to his starring role in the US series Summerland, but he's facing some stiff competition from Sex and the City hunk Jason Lewis and The Rock.

Adam Rifkin is adapting the screenplay for the Fox 2000 movie.

With John Woo as the director, it might be a decent movie.

The Rock is also doing Spy Hunter based on the old video game, and a movie called Karma.

Brad Pitt is set to star in a remake of 'He-Man.'

The actor is wanted by Legendary Pictures - who made 'Superman Returns' - to play the Master of the Universe in a new movie version of the 80s cartoon series.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper, "They are very keen on Brad for the role. He will have to bulk up though - he is very fit but not to 'He-Man' proportions."

He-Man - the most powerful man in the universe - is a sword-wielding hero with superhuman powers. The original cartoon series was one of the first TV shows to inspire a range of action figures, made by Mattel.

He-Man and his heroic friends defended the world of Eternia and the secrets of Castle Greyskull from the evil powers of Skeletor.

The original 'He-Man' film hit the big screen in 1987, when Cannon films produced a live-action movie 'Masters of the Universe' starring Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren.

If Brad, 43, turns the role down, '300' actor Gerard Butler, 37, is reportedly ready to step in to play the part.

I'd rather see Gerard Butler in the role, and I don't even know who he is. I just think a less-well-known actor would be better for this.

Some outlets were touting this as "Brad Pitt to play He-Man". What a crock. The producer just says he'd like to cast him.

There's no way Pitt signs on to do this pic.

You just know they'll cast Kevin Sorbo, and all the dialog will be like he's in the neighborhood Starbucks.

 huh??

Man at Arms: Prince Adam, Beastman and LockJaw have kidnapped Teela. Skeletor is planning on taking over Castle Greyskull.

Prince Adam: Whoa, my man. Slow down, I'm working on a Scone here. Why don't you order a triple vente grande mocha frappucino cinammon deluxe coffee?? Tell me what's going on.

Man at Arms: Forget it.

Obviously, you've never heard of Hercules, and their modern dialog set in a fantasy setting.

I hear the word fantasy and just space out. Unless it involves knee highs and motorboating.

gotta chime in here...if your fantasy is to motorboat someone in knee highs....wouldn't thigh highs be sexier? I can't think of anything less sexy than knee highs...

...Unless you're talking about socks, not hose. Then maybe.
