Two words: BRAD OTTIS.

That guy was a starter. For more than one game. Can you even believe that?

I can't tear my eyes away from this thread because of the memories, and yet, I almost want to beg you all to stop naming these names from the past. Looking back now, I laugh more than anything at some of the players on past teams. I hope 10 years from now we can't think of many names to put on a list such as this.

Ray "Making Big Plays Like Ray Always Does" Thompson should be the captain of team mediocrity.

yeah, he was gonna be someone I said as well. His nickname may have been the single dumbest nickname ever. Just because something rhymes doesn't mean you HAVE to use it. "Big Play" Ray - what a freaking joke.

Well let's see. Kasper played in 13 games for the Cards in 2003 (started 4 games), had 15 catches for 180 yards and 3 of those were for touchdowns. Of the 15 catches, 11 of those resulted in a first down for the team. As I remember (and I went to all of the home games), there were very few balls that he dropped that should have been caught. As a matter of fact, I remember some circus type catches.

Sorry Vince, while I will agree that the Cards have had some not-so-good wide receivers, I certainly wouldn't put Kasper among that group.
I have to agree .. even though he wasn't very fast he caught what was thrown his way ...

"and how about Jay Schrador (or however you spell his name) at quarterback, that would have been my pick for the all crap team."

I can't help but wonder where people come up with stuff like this. There sure doesn't seem to be any logical or historical reason for it.

Jay Schroeder (yes, that's spelled Schroeder, for those of you who were actually around to remember those days.) only played for the Cards 1 year (1994), the year Buddy took over.

The starting QB was Steve Beurlein until he went down with a knee injury in the Giants game (Cards ended up winning that 10-9, in typical Buddy style). The team only had 3 wins at that point and Schroeder almost led them back into playoff contention as they finished 8-8 (Jim McMcMahon also started a game). Schroeder was much like Josh McCown 10 years later, where the most important stat of all was that the team simply won more games than with any other QB since the team came from St. Louis.
Schroeder was all pro in 1986 with the Raiders. He stats for 1994 were very similar to Beurlein's except the team won 5 games with him at QB.

Both Beurlein and Schroeder had to labor not only under the offensively clueless Ryan but also Dave Atkins as OC, not exactly a leading candidate for the hall of fame in that area, to say the least.

At the end of the year, Ryan got rid of both QB's with the general rumor being that Buddy was busting his behind trying to sign Randall Cunningham in the off season, but settled instead on Dave Kreig. Now there's a guy, who even though he had some great years in Seattle before coming here, was so far over the hill by that time it was pathetic, and there one might actually be able to put up some kind of reasonable arguement as to his being one of the worst.

Jay Schroeder one of the "worst".......I don't get where that comes from at all. Well again, maybe I do.

I think its fuuny their is a 3 way tie at DE, To have that many sucky DE's that there is not a clear cut choice as to who was the 2 worst is pretty funny.

And that list could go on and on.

Dennis Johnson could make it a four way tie at DE
