Lay down your beliefs, to be preserved in perpetuity. It can be draft, coach, front office, free agents, etc.

Here are my first ones;

There is no way Joe Thomas will be available at #5.

The Cards letting BIGG walk is a monumental mistake.

I am unsure on coach or draft picks at this time.

My coaching picks are:

1A Carroll
1B Rivera

Any other coach, and I am less than thrilled.

Draft Thomas if he is there at 5. Consider Peterson or Best secondary player available if not.

Letting BIG walk is inexcusable.

A 3 year extension for Graves was beyond generous.

The Cards fortune will change next year

Kruck will be our OC (and kick butt)

James will get 1400+ yards

We will sign 2 impact FA's next year (CB & LB)

You'll find out I haven't got a clue (too much :koolaid:)

Graves setting the expectations already that

1. the new coach will not have any authority or say (even in picking his assistants)

2. Big will walk instead of being franchised

3. Cards will fail miserably in FA as it is going to be ultra competitive this year with lots of teams with cap room

4. The draft....well do something idiotic in desperation to get a LT

You have seen the last true sell out at Pink Taco filled with die hard Cardinal fans.

The next coach will fail as badly as the last 7 have.

When the old man dies there will a power struggle like no other. It will be ugly and will set the franchise back at least 10 years.

Amazingly some fans will predict playoffs for the Cardinals every April for the next two decades.

Sellouts will remain next year in large part due to the Superbowl tickets lottery.

If the team is set back 10 years, that means playoffs, baby!

Ok we'll see.

But I leave you with this
  • The last Cardinals coach to post a winning record was Don Coryell from 1973-77 (42-27-1).
  • Each of the last nine Cardinals head coaches with a tenure of at least five games, dating back to the team's years in St. Louis, had a losing mark
  • The Cardinals' streak of nine straight coaches with a losing record is one shy of the all-time NFL mark
might wanna check to see if there is a dump in your :koolaid:

What about the possibility of Momma Bidwill deciding to sell the team and thereby avoiding a power struggle? Plus the kids can all sit back and coung all of their money. It could happen.

Graves setting the expectations already that

1. the new coach will not have any authority or say (even in picking his assistants) i.e.-quality coaches will think twice about coming here= Atlanta will get the better coach.
2. Big will walk instead of being franchised. He's no David Boston- we need to franchise- at least to trade him, but won't.

3. Cards will fail miserably in FA as it is going to be ultra competitive this year with lots of teams with cap room - the team we now have will be the team we get on the field next year- minus Big. I expect nothing from FA

4. The draft....well do something idiotic in desperation to get a LT

I'd pretty much say the same thing, sums it all up.

I don't think I actually have any kool aid. I'll leave you with these questions. When you answer them, my comments may become more clear to you.

Don't you think the stadium selling out this season had anything to do with the Superbowl being held there next year and the potential for season-ticket holders having access to face-value tickets? If so, don't you think that'll carry-over to next year?

When was the last time the Cards were in the playoffs? Wasn't that 10 years ago?

None of this has to do with me thinking the team is going to be any good (although I do think they'll be improved). The first is simply looking at a reason for tickets to still be attractive, and the second is merely a quip in response to your line about the franchise being set back 10 years.

1. The coaching hire will be Bidwillian - old and uninspiring.

2. Graves will get his shot and fail as he has done every time he gets a chance in the league.

3. One or more of Boldin, Dansby, James, Fitzgerald, Wilson, or Leinart will demand a trade by the end of 2008.

Normally I'm optimistic and hopeful when a new staff is brought in but I really can't get on board this time around. I'll be there next season for every game and again in 2008, but I'm not expecting much. There's way too extensive of a history of failure with the decision-makers to harbor any sort of delusions of granduer.

Leonard Davis needs to be franchised at the very least. In an ideal world he'll be locked up long-term.

1.If we don't win and win soon, I am absolutely terrified that cats like AW, Fitz, and Quan, will start to long for greener pastures. Their loyalty is to be lauded now, but when year after year after year you are breaking your a** only to miss the playoffs AGAIN will wear on the best soldier.

2. I think we will wind up having to settle for a unknown commodity in HC, and that scares the crap out of me.

3. We will do next to nothing this free agency, in the belief that "the talent is already in place. we just need the coach."

4. The Niners will probably be favored to win the division next year, as the experts still won't trust this organization.

Joe Thomas is available with 5th pick.
Big walks and the OL survives without his false starts.
The Cards sign a CB, FS and OL in free agency.

actually a 10 year setback would be 1997, or 4-12 :(

I have one really general stance.

The owners are who we thought they were.

Joe Thomas goes before us.

We get no compensation for Big.

Antoine Cason is the best corner in the draft.

If we hire Sherman I will be very angry, but won't badmouth him unless results suck. I'm not afraid of eating crow. In fact, I won't badmouth any coach until I see them screw up. I will be happy if some are hired though.

We will get one of Clements or Briggs in FA.

My coach preferences, of the ones stated by the team thus far:

1. Whisenhunt
2a. Rivera
2b. Jim Caldwell
4. Grimm
5. Chow
106. Sherman

For coaches brought up, but not spoken of as yet by the cards:

1. Petrino
2. Mora
3. Carroll

We start off slow adjusting to the new regime, but make the playoffs.

#1 Where are you getting this crap from? Graves specifiacally stated that the new coach would evaluate the current staff with his input. Basically meaning that if teh new coach doesnt want him or like him hes gone!

#2 Big being let go without tagging him is pure and simple speculation as well. Until it happens I dont know why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch?

#3 You have no clue how well this team will do in FA this year. none whatsoever!

#4 You cant predict that either. Thomas may just be there!

The new coach is going to be asked to evaluate the holdovers, and the implication from Graves Monday was — in the spirit of continuity — some should be kept as the team goes forward.

“I just didn’t think a wholesale turnover of this staff was necessary,” Graves said.

Certain assistants the Cards consider essentially untouchable

Just going on History bro and a lack of comment coming from Cards camp.

#3 You have no clue how well this team will do in FA this year. none whatsoever!
Just curious if you have read the title of this thread? It is called This is "my stance"...meaning this is what I predict.

BTW, do you really have great confidence in Graves going out and and out negotiating the other 23 teams who have significant salary cap room, for the 5-6 quality FA's out there? Just curious.

#4 You cant predict that either. Thomas may just be there!
Again I can predict what I want. It is called "my stance" and my stance is that Graves will fail like he has doen int he past. Its not like I am pulling crap out of thin air. There is a history here...

Most of the leaders on this team , Wilson and Q in particular , have repeatedly stated they like the direction the team is headed in. I believe they are talking about the last couple of years. I also don't think there are many tears being shed in the locker room over Green being fired.
Players aren't idiots. They see the talent on this team and I believe most of them feel they should be in the playoffs THIS year. None will come out in public (nor should they) and rip Green, but I'll bet many feel many coaching decisions over this past year hurt this team.
I also think that to a man if you asked the players what they thought of Graves on a whole we would get positive feedback.
