this is my stance

1. I think Mike Sherman and Ron Rivera are bad choices for coach; if either of them is hired, expect an even worse season than last year

2. The new coach should give some thought to having an open competition at QB; seriously, we need to win now

3. Kurt will most likely be gone if he isn't given a fair grab at the starter position; "The Gloved One" could wind up in Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Green Bay, NY Jets, Oakland, Atlanta or Miami

4. This defense has its strengths but has been pathetic because of its weakness: corner. I expect no less than two major additions in the draft and free agency for the secondary. A starting CB and a starting FS or two starting CB's will be sticking out on the roster in training camp. All the preseason junkies will be like "hey, I've never heard of that guy" or "when did that guy become a Cardinal"?

5. Ted Ginn, Jr. or pretty much any talented, high character, FAST wide receiver should yield significant attention leading up to the draft as speed at WR and punt returner are major needs for this team.

6. The Cardinals, with the right coach, will start to have more fans rooting for the hometeam at University of Phoenix Stadium, will win the NFC West despite the worst team in the division going 7-9, which I expect to be the Niners. QB is such an important position and, despite having the best RB in the division and perhaps the second best defense to Seattle, the Niners have the weakest passing game and it will make them go 2-4 in the division. The Cardinals will go 11-5, make it to the NFC Championship Game and lose to the Cowboys, 30-28 and sometime in the upcoming season, Anquan Boldin will have his second 200 yard receving game

I'm simply saying if Warner is back, don't just give Leinart the starting job and tell your fans he gives you the best chance to win. This season's Leinart clearly didn't have the accuracy or ability to read defenses that Warner does and his best games all came after the line started protecting a lot better. Maybe Leinart will grow during the offseason but just because he's our future doesn't mean he has to be our present.

I would argue with those assertions. Especially that his best games came after the line came together. Actually, two of his best games were against KC and Chicago, two teams with very good defenses that are both in the playoffs. Both of those games, he played well, our defense/special teams didn't hold and he still put us in position to win/tie at the end of both, where our kicker failed us.

The reins have been handed over, and even Kurt knows it.

Ostensibly, Leinart might give us a better chance to win, but the stats don't lie.
You talk about the Chiefs and Bears games as great examples of Leinart stepping up against playoff teams, but after hot scoring drives early, his inability to convert on third and long, his turnovers deep in his own territory, and mostly his OC's conservativeness led to no touchdowns in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters.
The main problem with Warner wasn't necessarily his mobility because Leinart was getting sacked a lot when he first got in there, the problem was holding onto the ball. I know it's just one game, but it appears with the glove, Kurt has eliminated his one problem.
If you want to talk about Leinart's problems, we can do that, too. He's neglecting open receivers, forcing the ball into double and triple coverage, throwing balls too low and sometimes too high. Kurt has started 15 full games for the Cardinals, Leinart 10. I will take Warner's four best and compare them to Leinart's four best. Then we'll look at Warner's three worst outings, and compare them to Leinart's three worst. Yards are the least important factor here, but it is interesting that Leinart has thrown for over 300 just 1 time. Warner's done it seven times in 15 games, but they've lost five of those games.

My stance also includes that I am infatuated with us drafting Teddy Ginn and having an electrifying KR/PR/3WR. I am in lust with this stance.

Kurt, as much as I like the guy, is not the future of this team. Matt is. That's the end of it really.

Sacks and fumbles for loss are stats that can't be ignored, redzone efficiency is another. Sure the line protected better as the season progressed BUT the minute Leinart came in less sacks were allowed due to him not holding on to the ball as long as Warner.

This is a foolish argument anyway. Leinart is the starter, Warner has already said he accepts being the back-up next season.
