First, some boring but necessary backstory. I just moved home this year, and I'm taking up hunting again for the first time in more than ten years. Earlier today, I went out small game hunting. I was starting to get discouraged, because I hadn't jumped any game.

Then I saw a Cardinal fly near me. I smiled and thought it would be neat if that were a sign. So I tromped off to try to find some little rabbits to shoot. The Cardinal followed me. Everywhere I went for the next forty-five minutes, that Cardinal followed. It's as if he wanted to tell me, "Don't worry. You won't get any rabbits today, but the Cards got your back in football, bud."

Crazy but true, and I think it bodes well. I know we're going to crush the Whiners at home, but I think we also beat the Giants at home too. If we do that, look out Loretta!

My son's due date is right around the Super Bowl.

That pretty much guarantees we'll be in it as I will have more important things to do and won't be able to watch :D

Can we put a moratorium on the words "Super" and "Bowl"? It's starting to feel jinx-y around here.

We will win the superbowl because the Cowboy's game was prophetic.

We began the game with Special teams, and we ended the game with Special teams.

'Special' being the key word pointing to how we began and will end the season.

Just to reverse the jinx this thread likely brings -

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL

In fact there are probably going to be a more scary moments on the way to a possible division title...

One game at a time....

There I feel better:)

:stick:

I went to the game last year (my only U of P game) thinking the same thing and I think the line was similar as well. And we all know how that went. One of the most crushing things I have ever been a part of. And I am a little nervous with Shaun Hill being named the started as he is not as likley to turn over the ball and reminds me of Trent Dilfer - who won that game last year.

To me if we go out and crush this team like we should - that will show me we have turned the corner and can start talking playoffs and beyond.

Until then...Show Me

Wow, your son is pregnant?

Stout hates it when the man is supposedly pregnant, or the couple is pregnant. It is not so :p

jefftheshark wonders about people who refer to themselves in the third person. :)

Oh, and jefftheshark also wonders if this should actually be considered an omen, since everyone knows that Stout smells like barley and hops (you know - grains/birdseed).

Stout thinks Jeff-the-shark wise. Jeff-the-shark have heap big mojo for spotting extra omens. Jeff-the-shark must become Cards medicine man. Hummm....

This is not like you, Brandon. Too positive. That is indeed tantamount to an Oracle from Delphi. The Pythia has spoken Her truth to you and if you have correctly interpreted Her revelations, we shall win The Games!

I know, right? Hey, an omen's an omen's an omen. Eh, I'm still pessimistic...see my response to you about our run game in another thread. Also, our defense has to play with fire every game, not just when they decide to.
