The Rockies have won 16 of their last 17 games and are a serious contender for the wild card now. Jim Tracy, who has had managerial experience looks to have the Rockies believing in themselves. Still puzzles me why Byrnes signed a guy(Hinch) with no managerial experience to a 4-year contract.

Really? Fans wanted a change and so we got change. Cheap change. An experienced manager would have done wonders for this squad, I think. But experienced managers cost money.

An experienced manager wouldn't cost a lot. Because this front office has made some very dumb signings and trades, they need to be frugal. It's June 23rd and this team is the second worst team, only Washington is more pathetic and they beat the Diamondbacks two out of three last month.

Fans did want a change but you would expect they would hire someone who has been in that position before. Since the hiring, a lot of the reaction from the media and fans has been "what were they thinking?" Just read what Bryan Price had to say after he left.

I really hope they can make some trades before the deadline to help improve this team for the future, but I don't have much faith in Byrnes right now. I hope he proves me wrong.

Yes, we got change. From a passive .500 career manager whose experience with the D'backs was Bob Brenly's inconsistent batting orders --

-- to a passive zero career manager with no experience as manager or coach.

From Worse to Bad still ain't Good.
