When watching the game after coming home from the stadium, the TV announcers said the Cardinals wanted the roof closed to increase the noise level.

From the ESPN article http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=290103022:

It was a nice day outside but the Cardinals kept the roof closed at University of Phoenix Stadium. The stadium is far louder with the roof closed. ...

So can we please put this debate behind us?

I love it when the roof is open for aesthetic purposes...but when the chips were all-in, and it mattered, even the Cardinal management said "keep the top closed...it's louder that way."

And damn, if it wasn't loud as I've ever heard.

The only thing I care about is winning, open roof be damned.

If the roof is open and the team loses I'm pissed, so do whatever it takes to help the team win.

They should have saved all the money it cost to make the roof retractable and just built a dome with a moving field then. :doi:

I sounded pretty loud, even on TV. It also helped that there didn't appear to be many Falcon fans in attendance.

The one game I attended was the Viking game, and it seemed like almost half the crowd were wearing purple and cheering for Minnesota. We can't let that happen, roof opened or closed.

That game was by far the worst this year opposing-fan-wise; this game was the best I've ever seen. I don't think I saw a TOTAL of a dozen Falcon fans. They were just non-existent. It was so awesome to truly have the HOME field.

And yes, hot as it was in the end zone...roof CLOSED!

Can we get one of these fan-noise meters for the Cards???

http://pierian.atlantafalcons.com/noise/

I thought to myself that I should have brought my sound meter to measure how loud it was.

If the Cards are going to keep the roof closed, then they need to turn on the damn AC. It was pretty uncomfortable down there.

There really should never have been any question about this. The roof closed is how it's gotta be.
