Floyd isn't any good. He benefited greatly from teams triple covering Fitz last year. I wouldn't be surprised if we had a new #2 by mid season.
BA is the man! Getting pissed at the players not practicing and doesn't care who they are. Nice!
I get the idea but continue to find it odd. Cooper is coming off a broken leg, had his knee drained, and per Keim has a pretty bad turf toe. Does Arians think he faked having his knee drained and did the toe thing on purpose?
I get that he wants his guys to be tough and play when hurt but not injured but I'd submit that when a doctor thinks a guys knee is bad enough to stick a needle in it and drain it, he's probably not faking it.
Maybe Arians is trying to set a precedent with Coop, I know you're really hurt but I don't want to let you get the idea you don't have to earn that job.
Yeah, it's great. Unless you get someone hiding they are hurt because of it. Then, practicing and putting them on the shelf for the season instead of two weeks. Then it was a blowhard, stupid move.
As head coach, you should a feel for you who think is milking the injury to miss practice and who isn't. Address it one on one. Sending a shot out like this to the whole team can boomerang on you.
THIS IS MY OPINION SUPPORTED BY MY OWN KNOWLEDGE
This was a shot at Michael Floyd and Jonathan Cooper, moreso at Floyd. Arians doesn't like the idea that starters can be "injured" and then come back to their help positions and shake off the rust. Arians wants his people at practice and to have the toughness to play through some paid. Especially on offense where he knows his squad needs to take a big step. Compare how Mathieu has rehabbed and how Cooper and Floyd have. Some guys talk about playing with discomfort and others talk about overcoming the discomfort. Arians wants them to overcome it. Are you hurt or are you injured?
It may seen silly at this time of year but it sets the team up for success in Nov and Dec when everyone is dinged up and everyone is hurting.
