The longest shutout streak in modern NHL history is over. Ronald Petrovicky's power-play goal in the first period ended Brian Boucher's record scoreless streak at 5 hours, 32 minutes, 1 second – 22:40 longer than Bill Duerin.

Congratulations Boucher. It had to end and the good news is that it ended after you got the record.

I consider 2 records to be over.

1) Boucher's longest consecutive scoreless streak beating Bill DURNAN.

2) 5 consecutive shutouts by a team. One shutout may be the goalie, but 5 shutouts is a team thing.
