Pretty damned good movie. Travolta makes a great bad guy! Denzel is always stellar!

Agreed Shane. We saw it yesterday, we were 2 of 6 people in the matinee for it. I really liked it and I'd just watched about 20 minutes of the original over the weekend.

Travolta and Denzel were terrific, very believable in their roles. Some of it was predictable(the reason why Travolta actually took the train) even though I don't think it was the same in the original(I didn't finish the original it's been years since I've seen it). That said the action was good and I thought the way it was done was pretty clever. And they didn't go for the cliches too much, the ending actually surprised me because the usual standby didn't happen when someone got shot.

Not a great movie but well worth the 6 bucks each we paid.

As we walked out we were discussing if you had told someone all those years ago watching Welcome Back Kotter that Travolta would be considered to be an excellent actor in big films later in his career, nobody would believe you.

He's great in this role. Not saying he's one of the best actors out there but he's been very good in some good movies over the years.

Meh.....

Two excellent performances, but they took the plot well over the top a few too many times for my taste.

2.5 out of 5 stars, based upon Travolta's and Washington's performances.
