Did you remember that off the top of your head?

yeah, I think I'm right too...now you are making me go look it up...

In 2003, he was signed by Carolina as an unrestricted free agent just one week after being granted free-agency. Delhomme dueled with Chris Weinke and Rodney Peete for the starting position through the preseason. In the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jake replaced a struggling Peete and led the Panthers to a comeback victory throwing three touchdown passes

As bad as the Texans have been, I had to set thru 4 qtrs of hell in Houston
when they beat us 2 years ago! That is the lowest I have ever been after a
loss.

Nice to know that in the last three years, the Cardinals have gone 0-4 against the teams that ended up with the worst record in the NFL

That as much as anything probably doomed Denny

6 years, $48 million for Schaub? How about waiting until he starts a game or two, guys?????

First they passed on Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Now this. Add in their dozens of horrid free agent deals over the years (Morlon Greenwood, Todd Wade, Robaire Smith, Anthony Weaver, Eric Moulds, on and on and on) and I'm starting to get the feeling that the engine is running but no one's in the driver's seat there.

Houston is starting to make the 1980s Cardinals look well-managed in comparison.
i thought the same thing. If schaub turns out to be a great qb, then they will look brilliant. But why they took mario williams over young, leinart, and bush is beyond me.

Unfair post, I would give a crackhead more credit- and all seasons count for something and even if the move works out... The Texans took a year off the life of a Texan fan by not drafting Leinart or Young or even Cutler.

I agree. There were a lot burnt orange jerseys in the stands for the houston loss to Vince young in OT. As a whole the texans fans were lobbying for young and bush......but they got williams instead.

I've often felt the same way.

Yeah, the whole Ron Dayne thing was a head shaker, not to mention that they signed a completely finished Shawn Barber.

Have they ever signed a free agent who didn't bomb?

And look at their first/second round draft picks other than Andre Johnson. All pretty awful. Babin, Travis Johnson (he had a lot of fans on this board, remember?), Bennie Joppru (????), Tony Hollings, Chester Pitts, Jabar Gaffney....what a mess.

Hey, to be fair, Casserly DID pull the trigger on drafting DeMaco Ryans in the second round, who is far from a joke.

Also, although he was a third rounder, before messing up his knee, Domanick Davis was a pretty steady and reliable back.

As for Schaub, it's really hard to gauge this move. On one hand, if Schaub is every bit the QB people rave him to be, this deal could wind up paying itself off tenfold for the Texans. I do think the guy has the mental toughness and decision making ability that Carr seemed to lack.

However, again it's hard to gauge how he's going to do in the regular season, and we really only have a handful of games to base thought off.

You forgot to add Jonathon Wells to the bust draft list.I remember some people here wanting him after he was cut last year. He's from Ohio State and even I didn't want him. You can say Schaub is similar to the Jake Delhomme sitaution but i think he may be may similar to the Scott Mitchell/Rob Johnson sitautions.
