It's easy to see now why the Cardinals like Sendlein so much after he played much of last season injured.

Wow. That is an impressive story.

A little bit different type of character from some of the guys that we have seen come and go over the years (Pete Kendall, LD and Al Johnson).

I now understand why the coaching staff and management passed on drafting a center this year.

What?
Looks like you were right Duckjake. He is one of our best pick ups that season.

Boo Chapparel :p.

Let's hope the problem was the injury. I have confidence in Lott to get Sendlein into top physical shape, and Grimm to mold that shape into a great center.

Agreed.

I hope it is the injury that was holding him back. At least we know the kid is tough, this season we will find out if he is good.

Love the heart, hope he gets rewarded for it by having a killer season.

I had no idea about the injury. I was impressed by his 2007 preseason play. Let's hope he can get back to form.

Overall these stories show good character in a player and warrior mentality, but we hear these stories every single year about half the teams and players in the league. These stories are just lost on me now. Sort of desensitized I guess. Just last year alone we got stories of Boldin playing through injuries, Fitz played half the season including the playoffs with a broken bone in his hand, Warner played with the hip he got surgery on for more then half the season and the playoffs, Watson had a screw in his knee rubbing around causing a lot of pain, and so on. Thats just are team. Not a knock on Lyle in any way, becuase I like his potential a lot, I am just so desensitized to the whole playing through injury story becuase half the league has a story on it.

Coach said he wanted "Smart, Tough, Disciplined" Football. Lyle fits the definition.

good to know--

for as "injury free" the Cardinals were -- it sounds like some key members of the team played through injuries that could very well have kept them out--

Watson's knee
Warner's hip
Sendlein's shoulder

I'm sure the reason Wiz is so enamored with him is becasue he showed 10X the toughness of a multiple year vet that his staff brought in like Al Johnson.

Plus the fact that he isn't Nick Leckey helped too;)

The only problem (and IMO it's a big one) I see is the following:
1. Coaches KNOW LS is tough.
2. Coaches KNOW LS is smart.
3. Coaches HOPE that since his injury is cleared up he'll play better.

What a warrior. I was concerned with his push, or lack thereof. A bum shoulder would do that. Will be interesting to see how much better he is when healthy.

Is it my imagination, or has this coaching staff become very secretive? or Bellichek-like .... hmmm

Isn't that kind of stuff supposed to be on injury reports each week?
