I am not gonna hate on Fitz, because it is the GM's job to set the tone. He did that by bending right over from the get go. You cant hate on Larry for going with the flow.

Totally agree.

Wow that is two posts in a row.

I will try not to make a habit out of it. ;)

Stay with it my man. I am not exactly jumping for joy righ now either but there is a LOOOOOONNNNG way to go this offseason.

Heck I am surprised that we are bringing in Antwaan Odom. I didn't think the Cardinals were looking at someone like that.

Look, I’m no fan of Graves but the panic here is surreal. So far we lost Calvin Pace. Did I want to re-sign him? Sure. But this is Calvin Pace not Shawn Merriman. We’ll survive.

We don’t need to make a statement in FA. Some of the best teams don’t bother with it. The Colts, Giants and Packers are some of the most successful teams in the league and none of them emphasizes FA.

Welcome to ASFN, Max.

I fail to see how anybody in the NFC West but Seattle has improved, unless you're counting the Rams getting Jackson and Bulger healthy, which they were going to do anyway.
The Rams got rid of Bruce, which should have been done a few years ago and signed J. Brown. If Josh Brown was our kicker last year we would have made the playoffs. How is that not improving???

The whiners signed another old reciever (forget the name), a LB, a DE and a RB. They may not have been marquee players, but they were at the least the

Throughout the years I have kept my mouth shut during the Graves discussions, but he has made it apparent this offseason that he is beyond pathetic and must be fired if we ever want to be successfull.

He's more or less the Bidwill's drone.

They decided that Fitz was irreplacable. That's how he's (Graves) proceded.

The Bidwells want to continue to sell seats. But they're going about it the wrong way. They are going to have MORE problems down the road, because of this deal. You sell seats by having a good football team that puts W's up consistently. Not by the star system.

Look what happened at SDS over the years. Sell outs at first, then :thumbdown. They tried to bring in "names", like Simmons, and Joyner, but that was'nt what they needed to build. And this throwing $$$$ at one player isn't what's needed either. Because it's gonna cause dissention. He's not the leader of this team. If he gets this deal, he'll need to step up his leadership role. Others might resent that too. It could cause more dissention. I hope it doesn't.

He is a future HOF reciever. But that doesn't necessarily translate into W's for the long run.

I also don't think Parker allowed a reworked contract to even be discussed last season. That's what's leading this on this FA period.

No, we wouldn't have. But that's not the point. The Rams also lost Jeff Wilkins, who I would rather have over Josh Brown. That transaction does not lead to a falloff, because Brown is solid, but it also does not mean the Rams improved. They lost Bruce, and that is not addition by subtraction, because the Rams haven't got someone better to replace him. In my view, the Rams got worse.

The 49ers signed that same old receiver you just ripped, plus Allen Rossum and Justin Smith. As Graves has said, there is nothing wrong with wanting to add quality depth. But it's not a good move when you pay them as much as the 49ers did. The players Graves refers to tend to be younger guys who have talent but have never had a shot to show it, not older players or guys who have had the chance and not shown much. The 49ers are getting universally ripped as the example of what not to do during free agency. Overall, San Francisco has hurt its team in the long run by overpaying players who won't help much.

I repeat my statement: Outside of Seattle, I fail to see how anyone in the NFC West has improved.
