Does anyone else make velveeta sandwiches?

Butter up both sides of bread and put it on a grill then put velveeta in between..

good times...

may have to buy me some velveeta next time I go grocery shopping...

Yeah....but most people call it a "grilled cheese sandwich."

Good call, though. I like that you can buy a bigass block of velveeta and keep it forever. Man, you can get so many sammiches out of those bricks.

I've only used velveeta in two ways:
1) grilled "cheese" sandwiches
2) combined with chili to make chili "cheese" dip

I no longer make plain grilled cheese sandwiches. I only make grilled ham and cheese (with cheddar not velveeta).

Velveeta is a brandname of processed cheese first made in 1918 by Swiss immigrant Emil Frey of the Monroe Cheese Company in Monroe, New York. In 1923, The Velveeta Cheese Company was incorporated as a separate company, and was sold to Kraft Foods in 1927. Velveeta features a soft, rubbery texture, a distinctive taste that advertisers compare to cheddar cheese, and is noted for its easy melting. Others compare the taste to American cheese or Cheez Whiz. Velveeta is made in part of whey, a by-product of cheese-making.
