I think it has. Up to this point no matter how big, powerful or how much fire power a community has, it has failed. Sure we can predict it could. Then I could argue that a mega horde like we have seen could take it down. I was simply saying as a matter of history on the show, no society has been able to establish permanency in the TWD verse.

Besides does anybody really want to see them stop traveling? Maybe they do but plunking down on a permanent home is personally not something I want to see.
I don't really want to see it either but if they built giant concrete walls around an area I bet they would be just fine with how big the group is now. I mean, negan had his stuff pretty locked in before humans started messing with it.

traveling cross country over time would be good. I don't wanna get ahead with the comic or know anything that happens but I imagine a lot of this is solved considering it is still going

Did you forget World War Z? :D We have seen hordes but I would imagine if they pile up at the wall they could eventually get over. Maybe not as fast as in that movie but there appear to be much more of the dead than alive people.

Could you imagine? Lets's say only a fraction of the populace survive (30 million) that is 300 million dead people worth of hordes to contend with no matter what you build. Honestly, they would be better off with a fortified place under ground or way up high on a secluded mountain where there is only a lift or something to get up there. Either way that makes for a boring show.

Road Trip!

This reminds me of the early CDC episode where that guy was trying to find a cure. I would have to imagine that at some point, a cure would be not only viable but be the most valuable thing in the world. What about tackling that? It would provide a purpose for people verses just surviving from group to group and sanctuary to sanctuary.

Isn't it well established now that there really is no home. No permanency?

Plus, it would be a cool story line in terms of maybe the group that owns the cure wants to use it to solidify their power or resources. Maybe they want to thin out the population to start over in society. So many story lines could come of that.

IMO that would be a fitting story arc for the series to end on.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

I haven't seen world war z yet...

I do know the zombies are totally different in that one, I don't think huge concrete walls would be a problem on TWD. Maybe even build a castle with a serious heavy duty draw bridge and when surrounded just dump unlimited gas on the zombies and light them on fire. It wont burn the castle down.

a cure has limited value really...it aint going to kill the zombies, just make it so you dont have to skull gank your friends when they die.

as decay advances the zombie threat should lessen..as without flesh they should fall to the ground.... this is an issue that should solve itself.. just survive until the zombies rot away,... then be sure to brain damage your dead. There will still be the occasional wandering zombie but that aint no big deal....folks in the desert have to watch out for rattlesnakes and scorpions all the time... it should cut down on tweekers though, who wants to risk being mistaken?

It will for the millions that will be bitten. It means they don’t have to die and likely makes the living population more aggressive at taking out the dead verses running. I would say that has huge value.

you think there are "Millions" left alive?? I think if there were that many Rick and the gang would have seen more people than they have... IMO, at this point the population of the united states is down to thousands...maybe tens of thousands...

what do you think it was like in NYC when the zombie plague hit hard?>> Then, those 15 million zombies all get bored and decide to leave NYC...I am sure most of them were napalmed...maybe the bridges were blown too so they couldnt get out.
I think FTWD got it right as far as the beginning goes...idiots standing around filming attacks with their phones not knowing they should run... just cant see any major city surviving the outbreak for more than a couple days at best... maybe like was mentioned in that one episode...Nebraska, lol...perhaps the flyover states survived

I'm not sure why I'm still watching this show. It's just so bad now.

I just need to go back and watch the pilot and call it a series.

I recorded the recent marathon and have been watching from the beginning. currently at the point where Merle captured Glenn and Maggie....
it was better then.

I think I'm watching to remind myself that my current script doesn't need to be as perfect as I think it should be.

Oh... one more thing. If the actor playing Aaron can't cry, either don't kill his lover or at least get him some eye drops. His dry cry face was hysterical.

this episode was better...although if negan knew they were coming and even set up a crows nest type trap for them.... why sacrifice all those other saviors?

Because the plot dictates he should.

Yes it’s probably still millions. I didn’t say high millions. I think it’s a safe bet that’s it’s in the low low millions. Scattered across the globe, that population would be pretty sparse and it would seem pretty empty everywhere. The United States has around 325 million today and we are pretty far down the list of countries when it comes to population density.

Would think places with enough empty land would do the best. Where countries with high population density would be screwed because there would be no place to go. Hordes would overrun those areas easily.

This episode was a lot better but the Morgan and Jesus thing was idiotic.

My feelings exactly. Strongest episode so far this season, which is not saying much. The Jesus thing is just so idiotic with him being the new Morgan. I mean, bringing all those guys back ALREADY almost got them all killed. Maggie letting Gregory back in is also beyond idiotic. How many times has Gregory tried to get her killed now? Remember the closet thing? I was so hoping that the little girl, sorry forgot her name, would be like screw that! Then shoot him in the head when Maggie let him in.

The only thing saving the show right now is how completely over the BS Daryl is and he's just killing everyone. Tara seems to get the concept of war too, and I don't like Tara, but atleast she's not completely delusional right now. Those two saved the episode.

The unlimited ammo everyone has is still driving me nuts.

I guess Eugene has multiple robot speed and can make a large amount of bullets per week... but yes that annoys me as they must have bullet factory.

Wonder if they mention how they get all the ammo in the comics...

I do enjoy the walking dead just the gas for cars and infinite amount of ammo gets to me

it was... this episode actually seamed to have a bit of story to it. even though I am sure many folks are upset about the sacrificial tiger....would have been nice to see the big cat get to go off on a group of saviours,...and the results of them trying to shoot it in a crowd and hitting their own people in the process, lol. But I guess an altruistic tiger is something I can live with...I'm a dog person.

Best episode of the season... which isn't saying much, but best nonetheless.

Agree. The writing on this show is so uneven with their attention to detail.

For example:

I actually really appreciated the realism of the kings guy,,, Jeffery? Anyways, I appreciated that he couldn't break the chain with his axe. It ALWAYS annoys me when there is something chained up in a show or movie and someone just kicks it open, cuz you know, chains just break super easy. So I appreciated the realism of that. And hey the writers must have gotten the hint because people actually ran out of bullets in this episode! lol

However I'm afraid that now the King is going to go on a Morgan/Carol/Jesus crisis of conscience and be completely useless the rest of the season.

How great is it to have ass kicking Carol back tho? :p

Also: RIP Shiva. :(
