I'll concede that the bogus calls were fairly balanced between both teams last night, but was anyone as frustrated about the officiating as I was? There were:

- Flags that were dropped and then picked up...

- Endless conferences that slowed down the game...

- Ghost calls - like the one Boldin that almost cost us the game.

Maybe it's just me, but I just didn't like this crew.

I'd rather they get the calls right and do this than get the calls wrong (as they did on the Boldin PI).

There were a couple of no-calls late in the game that could have gone against the Cards. Specifically, if I remember, a PI call on DRC

the boldin PI reeked of a makeup call from a bad call on the play right before it

the officiating crew was definitely all over the place - they called a bad game and then just lost control of it at the end

I feel sorry for both us and the 49ers for enduring the idiocy that was that officiating crew last night.

My new policy is to only complain about the refs when the Cards win while getting jobbed. For what it's worth, there were a couple of blocks in the back on the opening kickoff. Simply setting the standard for the upcoming suckitude.

officiating was bad, I agree... Fortunately I think overall it ended in our favor... We did get panalties that cost us points, but honestly those were legit. The ones that were not called on us were key. Bad calls overall, but I am not going to bitch too much.

I think I heard either last year or earlier this season that the crew who worked the game last night calls more penalties than any other in the league. The officiating in this league continues to get worse every season. I'm not saying games are fixed, but I really believe the refs dictate what happens in games to often. There are dishonest people in every part of the big business world today (Enron, government, the NBA and so one...) it really makes you wonder. Plus the rules that the NFL has in place and continue to change every year appear to always cover mistakes the officials make.
