Theo Ratliff: opinions?

What do you think of Ratliff as a player? He averaged over 4 blocks a game after being traded to Portland. He is 31, and he has one year left on a cxontract for about 11M. Would Portland do a Ratliff for Marion deal? Would the Suns? Just curious what you think! Peace! Dave

Suns - In a heartbeat. They clear Marion's deal, get a defensive minded center. One Ratliff's contract expires, they will most likely be able to resign him at 3/4 of what he makes now, freeing up more cap room.

Portland - No way. For all the reasons the Suns would do it.

If a straight up trade favors the Suns, then what would we have to offer the Blazers to get Ratliff? What about Marion, Jake, and Vujanic?

Realistically, we don't have anything they need.

Their only weakness off hand is at point. Stoudemire played well last season though. I am pretty sure his contract is up next year too. Also, they just drafted Telfair, so I doubt they would want another prospect there.

They have a good amount of wing players, so their interest in Marion would be very limited I would assume.

If we were to get Ratliff, it would most likely require a third team.

Someone who needs a top notch SF, and would be willing to send back a good player to compliment Randolph. (Which Ratliff does very well, so again, no need to trade him)
