Former Seattle Kraken and current Utah HC forward Kailer Yamamoto had strong words about his former team after Utah defeated the Kraken 7-1.
Yamamoto played just one season with the Kraken, scoring eight goals and 16 points. The Kraken signed Yamamoto after he was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination by the Detroit Red Wings. The Kraken signed him to a one-year, $1.5M contract but he never panned out in Seattle.
Following the season, GM Ron Francis announced that the Kraken would not be tendering the pending RFA a qualifying offer, allowing him to talk to other NHL teams.
In the offseason, the 26-year-old agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with Utah. He's spent most of the season in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners, scoring 19 goals and 53 points in 52 games.
Utah called up Yamamoto prior to their encounter with the Kraken, joining the NHL club for just his ninth game of the season. The former Edmonton Oilers' 22nd overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft scored his second goal and third point of the season last night and had this to say following the game.
"They didn't want me, so I came in with a little bit of vengeance."

The Kraken and Utah have completed their season series, but whoever Yamamoto ends up with in the offseason, some animosity is expected when the Kraken and Yamamoto meet again.
