It wont be a cake walk because you have to take into account their defense, especially their linemen. Allen and the two Williams'(pending suspension) have the ability to give our blockers fits all game long.

And you can most certainly rule out any success on the ground. Might as well go 5 wide on every snap

8th ranked Defense and the best running back in the game (with blazing speed and jukability) and you think this'll be a cake-walk?

I really want to see if our O can can get on track against a really solid defensive squad. Running game or no running game, the offense for the most part in the first half of the season seemed unstoppable. Compared to earlier in the year, it seems to be sputtering a bit right now the last four games (26, 29, 20, 20).

They're still the highest scoring team in the league but it does seem to be less effective lately. That's probably because of better competition but i see no reason why they don't put up points on Minny unless Whiz insists on trying to establish a running game. Minny is not the team to do that with. I liked DG's approach a couple years ago, throw every play.

I also noticed we put some bubble screens into the rotation yesterday which can be as effective as a running play. The problem though is that it can work in college but NFL players may be too fast to run it successfully over time.

Cake walk? Not even close. We don't stop the run very well and AP is a monster. This is far from a cake walk

We do stop the run. AP is a monster, no doubt, but we are effective against the run.

13th in the league in YPG allowed and YPC.

96 yards per game and 3.8 per carry. Very close to top ten numbers.

AP will be tough to contain, but he's going to be most dangerous in screen passes.

We're gettin better but Im not sure the stats are the be-all end-all for the reason that we tend to give up the big play and AP can break in many different ways.
My point is that it's far from a cake walk and I certainly hope the team doesn't get a laxed (sp?) attitude

Just hope Clancy doesn't have AP on his fantasy league team.

This is no cakewalk. Minnesota is still in a playoff race and we clinched, I hope we don't show up on cruise control. As stated above, factor in AP and this game looks tough.

Far from a cakewalk.

However, I like the matchup for the Cardinals for a couple of reasons... whether Frerotte or Jackson gets the start, the Vikings will have a mistake-prone QB in there. The Cards need to stack the box, cheat to stop the run, and make the QB beat their secondary. The chances are good, given that the Cards are good at creating turnovers and the Vikings are good at committing them, that the game can be won that way. They simply can't let the Vikings get the running game going too well too early.

We have a tendency to give up the big play, you are right. For the most part though, we are a pretty stout running D.

Doesn't mean I think they will have a cakewalk or shut down AP.

I just wouldn't be suprised if we did, and I don't expect him to get much more than 100, which is saying something against that guy. Of course, he might get another 90 from the pass. :|

Too funny! I made this statement awhile ago in the Edge debate and it was your opinion that the offense was just as good if not better than earlier in the year.
