This looks hilarious

http://www.thisis40movie.com/

Five years after writer/director Judd Apatow introduced us to Pete and Debbie in Knocked Up, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprise their roles as a husband and wife both approaching a milestone meltdown in This Is 40, an unfiltered, comedic look inside the life of an American family.

just watched it today. It's literally one of the WORST movies I've ever seen in my entire life. Painfully not funny, characters I couldn't stand and RIDICULOUSLY long.

Albert Brooks was good in it... and Megan Fox in her underwear... otherwise, as wretched as anything I've seen in years.

If you thought Apatow's Funny People was overindulgent, you ain't seen nothing until you've seen this.

Both were in the movie 2007 "Knocked Up" meaining Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd. As they seem to be popular enough to have their own "sequel sort of." Looks kind of raunchy to me.

Just for perspective, what are the other movies on your "WORST movies ever" list?

The trailer looks hilarious. I am still planning on taking the wife to see this. We laugh at stuff even when no one else in the theatre is laughing. Looking forward to it.

this is a good question. there are WORST movies ever like Battlefield Earth and No Holds Barred... which I have to believe, against what anyone ever says, are SUPPOSED to be terrible, and then there are movies that are trying REALLY hard to be good and misfire so terribly, that they are awful and they make you mad that talented people all decided that that movie was worth spending 6 months on instead of something else. This was one of those movies for me. Trying to think what else ranks up there for frame of reference, but can't come up with anything off the top of my head right now.

Unfortunately, Battlefield Earth actually wasn't trying to be bad. I'm sure hindsight by all involved, including Travolta, is unfortunate. But I can almost guarantee that the filmmakers didn't start that film with the goal of being terrible.

extremely loud and incredibly close is definitely up there.

I can't throw Funny People into my worst EVER list. I actually liked the first half of the movie a lot but the second half, which focussed on... shocking... Apatow's family... was atrocious.

Well, almost anything with Tom Hanks anymore is self-indulgent. Stuff he produces is outstanding. Stuff he acts in is ... "whoa" bad.

I won't be seeing this so I can maintain my marginal respect for Apatow.

My wife and I saw it last night. We thought it was pretty funny. It was too long however my wife and I were entertained throughout. If you're married, you'll crack up over the similarities.

shoulda read this thread before i rented it.

they should change the title to "this is stupid" or "this is not funny" or even better "do not rent this on 420 if you want to have a stoned laugh fest"

Oops.

I laughed once or twice. Megan fox is frickin HOT. Other than that, worthless piece of crap boring depressing movie about a crappy marriage. I didnt even finish it.

You could have showed me the viagra scene and some flashes of megan fox over about 1 minute and saved me the other god knows how much wasted life I spent watching it.

Oh well. Next week I want to watch "thats my boy" hopefully its at least worth my time.

probably a harsh review but it sucked and they can kiss my butt :)

Laughed a bit.... Not much else to say on it except Paul Rudd is fiiiine.

I watched this movie when it first came out and I'm trying to remember a favorite scene and I can't. Which shows that I didn't think it was all that great.

My wife and I watched it this weekend. We of course are married and over 40, so a lot of the humor hit home with us. We enjoyed it.

Definitely not as funny as it could have been. Plenty of funny scenes though.
