Jose Cruz Jr. was a big reason the Giants lost to the Marlins in the playoffs because he dropped a routine fly ball. Today Jose won a gold glove.

I watched that game, & if Jose made that play, the entire outcome of the playoffs would likely been different.

Such things happen occasionally in the post season... That's why Cruz's error was such a shocker... Brings me back to another gold glover back in the '68 World Series, who lost the ball in the crowd and cost the Cards (with Gibson on the mound) a chance to win the Series in game 7.

I think losing the ball in the crowd and dropping a routine flyball are not similar. Cruz just choked on that play, just like Buckner and Durham.
