This might be a totally stupid question.

Can we amnesty Beasley's contract and get him out of here?

Apologies in advance for ignorance and stupidity

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to this side of things but my understanding is that we'd have little to gain by amnestying him (even if we can). I think it's a once only option and he only has a partially guaranteed year following this one so little would be gained by it. Might as well just release him and save the amnesty for when we really need it.

i think amnesty was a one time thing...or at least if you amnesty a player, you can't amnesty another one for the life of the player's contract who was amnestied...if that makes sense.

we already amnestied Josh Childress.

I think you're right. And I completely forgot about Childress.

Amnesty is a 1 time thing and only applicable to contracts signed during the previous CBA.

Since Beasley was signed under the current CBA the Suns can use the stretch provision on him if they want to(will cost 1.8mil in cap space for the next 5 years), but I think given his contract structure the best bet if the Suns absolutely have to be rid of him and can't find a sucker would be to buy him out(6mil this year, 3mil next worth of cap space).
